The bakery aesthetic was wonderful but the music did not fit and was a little too loud. The bakery items here were wonderful but the non-bakery items was subpar. We ordered the breakfast croissant, the salmon omelette and macaroons. It was not worth the money for the meal but the macaroons were wonderful. Overall, great place for certain items but not necessarily lunch.

Incredible baked goods and menu items. Everything I've tried was delicious, including the coffee.

La Mie is the best bakery in Des Moines. Delicious pastries, sandwiches, and so much more.

This bakery is a slice of heaven. All the pastries are beautiful and delicious, and the menu is fantastic, too.

Hmm... can't believe I haven't reviewed La Mie yet... hands down the best bakery in Des Moines. My favorite item is the ham and cheese croissant. There always seems to be a line at the register and there never seems to be enough tables during weekend brunch. However, patience will pay off as stuffing one's face with La Mie pastries will make every bit of cheating during cheat day worth it. Parking can be difficult, so be sure to look for parking in both the front and rear lots.

This bakery has some really tasty options in the menu but when I was there (party of 6) the ordering and service felt a bit disorganized. The manager and stuff are very attentive though.

Went to La Mie for the first time today and really enjoyed our breakfast! I even tried avocado toast with my daughter, and the hype is real, it was actually good, a nice clean taste. I would definitely good back and recommend this place to others. If you buy a croissant from the stand inside, dont forget to ask them to warm it up for you.

I have never been to another bakery with both the assortment of pastries and desserts that La Mie has or the quality. The pastries are truly divine. La Mie means something about the inside of bread, and they deserve the name because WOW! My favorite is the blueberry danish. They have great coffee and espresso, maybe slightly pricey for Des Moines, but definitely not unreasonable. They also have hot food options for breakfast and lunch and outdoor seating during nice weather. They are usually jam packed at breakfast time, you might have trouble finding a seat.

Love the pastries here, and their salad are awesome to take for lunch. Try the cheese danish - best in town!

What a delicious place to meet up with friends for a breakfast or just a coffee. Being from the East coast, this is a refreshing and mildly overwhelming place to get a danish or great baked good. Overwhelming because you just don’t want to choose wrong. Go and check it out next time you drive by, and there are some other cute shops to visit while you are there! I know I will be visiting again soon!!

I was overwhelmed when I walked in and a woman came to help me right away. Prices are similar to a Panera bread. Great food and pastry. I LoVe their back patio, feels like you're at a pier.

Beautiful food-- I couldn't decide on a pastry for a solid 5 minutes because it all looks so good! Fresh squeezed orange juice and yummy coffee complemented my eventual decision of an almond croissant. Only complaint is that it's often hard to find a seat during peak hours 😁

Stopped in for the first time and was shocked to see the large crowd and menu! We had a delicious lunch and grabbed a chocolate truffle cake for a birthday later that night (which was a hit). There were many people there but you would never know by the efficient service.

Questions & Answers

Very doubtful

Call them

I do not believe they do. They are more of a French style bakery. So tarts, croissants, macaroons, and much more.

$1.25 each

I'm not sure...I would check their website or call them. Sorry I couldn't help more!

Sorry I can't answer that. You should try calling them.

No because it is normally closed on Sundays.
