I was very disappointed with La Mediteranee, having visited on a number of previous occasions our expectation was high. However, moules marinieres served in a very badly cracked dish, which had clearly been used several times in that condition, was a shock. The waiter was indifferent when the matter was pointed out and he chose to ignore the issue. The owner whom we spoke to on departing, offered a mild apology and said these things should not happen. Clearly it had happened many times before- judging from the badly stained condition of the cracks.

It's hard to find anything unsatisfactory! I have been there twice and both times had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Ernesto is a gracious, unpretentious host and makes you feel welcome and appreciated, as does the rest of the staff. My first visit was spur of the moment on Valentine's Day and he was able to accommodate us without a reservation. Although I stick with the Filet Mignon and beef dishes (of course cooked to perfection, just as I ordered!), the menu is quite varied as is the wine list; as another reviewer noted, you can keep the evening moderate, or splurge. The price fixe dinner is also a great value, and everything is topped off with live piano music. Oh, and I almost forgot, the live roses on the tables are a fine touch! Definitely a a place for your "to try" list!

My first date with my wife was here. Service, food, and feeling was perfect. I first kissed her cheek in this establishment. You really can't go wrong here. They are good people.

The dinner pre-fix on the menu provides a variety of choices, but we did not need much time to decide on one. The appertisers, entree and dessert came in the right portion and time. I could not have found better beef elsewhere than here. Even my very picky son loved it. The piano music followed by Jazz are excellent. The volume is not too loud, just right for customers enjoying and talking to one another. The whole restaurant is not noisy, most importantly. [It contracts sharply with those restaurants in Union Square or lower Manhattan which enjoy quite good reviews, but they were extremely noisy and it was a torture.] The service was excellent here in La M. I would highly recommend my friends to patronise it.

This remains one of the best places in the neighborhood. The food is always delicious and well served. The extra plus, of course, is Harold, pianist extaordinaire who beautifully plays wonderful songs whose melodies bring to mind the wonderful poetry of their lyrics.

I Im somewhat related to the owner of this fine bistro. He is a good friend of my dad and he knew me since I was born. All I had to say was that it was a nice little french resturant to go to. he served frog legs and other meats such as fried venison and salads. He has to shut it down due to personal reasons and the rent was too high. no to mention that there just wasnt alot of customers nowadays visiting there. It was great on its run but now when he comes I can just eat what he brings and its reminiscent to the place.

The beauty of La Mediterranee is in its consistency. The food is always good, the decor is charming and comfortable and the staff always welcoming. The real bonus is Harold on the piano, playing favorites from all eras. It is a good go-to place when you have guests and need to ensure a good experience.

I had really good diner at that place. I got tuna tartare and lamb chops and both were perfectly cooked. And the pianist brings great atmosphere.
