La Macarena was a small quaint restaurant with good lighting and friendly service. The lunch menu had several breakfast, lunch, and vegan options. I ordered the Ropa Vieja. It was delicious and tasted clean (not heavily salted and fresh ingredients). All in all, it was a great experience of El Salvadoran cuisine.

This place is absolutely amazing! From the atmosphere to the food. Everything was delicious including the in house made passionfruit beverage! Each dish was authentic and fresh. The owner Manny is delightful and a breath of fresh air! I am only upset that I have lived in New Orleans this long and this was only my first time going! I will be back and bringing friends! Highly recommend!
