La Havana Cafe

We hosted a 50 person brunch here on a Sunday, and while that was the max the small kitchen could handle, they did such an amazing job getting lots of delicious food out of the door for us. We loved the mac n' cheese with egg, the special veggie scramble, and the french toast. Good coffee, good people, and normally just a good chill spot to have a meal. I feel like people not usually in the area might get a little confused by the "Chicago Teacher's Lounge" name and wonder if it's actually just for teachers - which means it's your lovely little neighborhood secret not too crowded great place to eat. At least until everyone else figures it out.

Love this place. Great food freshly made and good drink selection. Owner on site. Cozy friendly place.

Lobster ravioli special. Absolutely delicious. Norman, our waiter was friendly and attentive. Cocktails were on point. Atmosphere was chill and laid back.

Limited menu, but very high quality food and wonderful service! We had a fun experience sitting outside watching all the cool cars go by.

Bringing some of the best elevated food to West Town / Near Humboldt, I cannot recommend this place more. Chef Raul has some of the most wonderful hearty dishes ranging from all over the world. All ingredients are locally sourced and he uses the same distributors as all the top five star restaurants (not sure if I can say this, but I hear he used to work at Alinea). My suggestion is to eat off the specials menu. Each item is hand-crafted based off the best available daily ingredients and are sure to please. If you have a chance, talk to Raul, and I guarantee you will see his passion for food.

Happened on Chef Raul's restaurant by chance, and so glad I did. Between a mainstream-but-varied menu, wine list, and specials (including a regular steak frites), the restaurant deserves its success. Ask Norman about his family and watch him beam with pride, as well as in working for the restaurant.

I am just reading that this place closed their doors. Please let us know if the chef will be opening anywhere else. We loved coming here and loved your menu.

Didnt actually enter this place, but visited a friend who lives above it after it was closed. The patio looked very nice and orderly though, even while the establishment was totally closed and empty.
