La Cubana

Fun atmosphere (think 1950s Cuba) with great food and service. Good sized meals, or the sandwiches/ buns are a great lunch sized options. Also has a range of Cuban inspired cocktails. I'll definitely be heading back there for more!

A terrific place to grab a bite before a show at the nearby Ossington Theatre. I always wanted to try an authentic Cuban sandwich and this was the perfect opportunity. Decor was perfect and I could imagine this was close to a Cuban sandwich diner. Especially the steep stairs down to the very clean washrooms. The menu was varied with options for vegetarian and carnivores. The small diner filled up quickly but it was Valentine’s Day.

Fantastic service and food at fair prices in a great neighborhood

Nice small diner with friendly staff. I had the grilled fish sandwich with a side of yuca frita and I really enjoyed it. It had a nice mix toppings, together with just enough seasoning, to give it a light, fresh taste. Also had the chance to try a bit of the BBQ shortrib medianoche and tostones. It definitely would satisfy people who are meat lovers. The tostones seemed a bit over cooked but still enjoyed it. I would want to go back to try other items on their menu!

The food and decor were great. I had the steak and it was cooked perfectly. A couple of things were off for me, however. We waited over 7 mins after being seated to even be acknowledged/given water and it was uncomfortably warm. Thankfully, someone opened the back door. While our meal was fast, we were never given one service check in to ensure that everything was good; I'd have liked another Americano, and more chimichurri. Before we were even done eating, our hot sauce was snatched off our table without pause or question, like we requested it be taken away, and we were not done with it. At all. Overall, the food was delicious, but the service was certainly something to be desired. I likely won't return to this location. Giving 4 Stars because I'm hoping that the serving staff were just having an off day, and the menu/kitchen deserves more than that.

I visit this spot a lot since I work nearby. I have to say the service is always fantastic and they keep the place well kept at all times. Rates are reasonable and they serve sizeable portions.

Best coffee I've ever had. Cozy place, love the decor and the place is clean. Staff were all friendly and attentive. My husband and I both enjoyed the breakfast sandwich with a side of french fries. It was far too much food! We could have split it as we each ended up taking half a sandwich home.

Authentic cuban food guaranteed ;), well-seasoned and served. Loved the Cod croquetas and the grilled fish.Excellent customer service and location. Small place with an even bigger cuban spirit.

The food here is always amazing. I recommend the honey glazed pork belly medianoche!

Good food. Veg options for those who care. Good portions and good staff. Did have to flag people down a few times as if they'd forgotten us, but it does get quite busy so it was somewhat understandable. They were always quick when we got their attention.

Great little rustic spot! Atmosphere is so chill, music makes you wanna dance, staff all smiling, coffee to die for (donut's to match) but the star of the show is the Guava BBQ Beef short rib. On the house made medianoche buns with crispy onions, red cabbage slaw & chimichurri its quite possibly the nicest thing I've ever had sandwiched between some bread!Food is reasonably priced and well presented so il defo be back to try every sandwich on the menu, literally!!

The atmosphere was like a classic diner, and I thought it had a nice feel to it. The staff were pretty nice, and were able to explain the foods (since I couldn’t look it up; my phone was dead). They were also accommodating to my food concerns, which I greatly appreciate.The food itself was average. The mango-coconut drink was mostly ice, but it was yummy for the first few sips. The cod croquetas were interesting, though I admit they were a bit bland. The buns were made in house and are quite yummy on the other hand; the overall burger was not bad.Next time I come, I probably won’t get any drinks; the homemade buns are definitely the highlight!

The most delicious Cuban sandwich and perfect coffee. Thank you. If I lived closer, I would visit all the time. Our friend who lives close by highly recommended La Cubana and I can see why!! :) And now I'm hungry again just looking at the picture I took before eating. Nice staff, as well!
