Pastalillos were cold and not fresh, sitting under heat lamp.Disappointed.

Had the pork jibarito sandwich with rice and pigeon peas. Plantain had a great fry, crispy outside and tender in. It held together perfectly. These guy know what their doing! Generous portion of roast pork was tender, flavorful and rich without being greasy. Mayo balances the pork wonderfully. One star off for spanish-only menus. Servers are friendly and attentive. Hope to return soon!

Very horrible experience at this restaurant I was serviced what I believe was chicken, but it other wise. I spoke with owner the same day and he stated that it was chicken. He refused to give me my money. He and all he rude staff came from the back yelling and being very rude. I WOULD NOT ANY EAT ANY CHICKEN PRODUCTS FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT. I order off of door dash I wish haven't. I will contacting the state and other new sources regarding this matter. I also have videos of the encounters if needed.

The food was amazing, everything tasted exactly how I remember, the guy server was quick and the price was fair. I would recommend without a problem to anyone from the island that misses our food.

This is a nice place with nice people. Good puertorican food. When I visited for the first time they explained the menu very kindly. I liked the taste of everything that i ordered and also the prices are ok. I would definitely keep visiting this place

Sad experience overall. Food is cold or room temperature at best, even after I requested that the Puerto Rican rice be heated up- to be hot- it was brought back warm. Didn’t matter anyway because the rice was a huge disappointment- dry, hard, bland, cold.. not a fan & won’t return.

Best Puerto Rican restaurant,great experience and always a place to get pasteles how nana made them! Very nostalgic atmosphere and super friendly employees! 10/10 I'd love to give a better rating! All their food delicious,hot and fresh! Highly recommend it! A most stop!

This a place that I used to love , now I like it. They changed their name to Shalom, they should've left it the same la Isla. The food is not like it used to be so good. Now it's a bit blah, not good. It's a bit pricey for Puertorican food, $10 for a pound of Carne Frita, which it wasn't enough. My daughter didn't like it. We used to go there almost every other weekend, now we go once. We are never going there again, sorry.

The service is always good, & the food is delicious! I drive down from waukesha a few times monthly to get some of their food. The sandwich options are my favorites along with my favorite beverages malta india & kola de champagne. If you haven't tried them you absolutely should. Order the tripleta, you wont be disappointed!
