LA Capilla Mexican Restaurant

The food is good... The portions are large too. You will have food to take home for the average person.... They serve you delicious chips and salsa before your meal comes... And they are very nice people.

Good food and service. Lay back environment with plenty of sitting. Larger portions than your usual Mexican restaurants. This is why prices on food range from $10 -$30 easily. Parking can be hard to find on the street during heavy dining hours however, a parking structure a few doors away is available.

This Mexican restaurant is an Old Town Torrance favorite with the locals. We went on a busy night, but the wait was not too bad. The host was funny and cracked jokes with us. I ordered the carnitas. It was quite succulent, and the portion size is definitely more than I can eat. Make sure you bring an appetite. Overall, it had a good family environment and the food is very homely.

Been eating here for over 30 years, yes, 30 years. Have never been disappointed. Staff has always been very courteous. Food is great!! I always bring out of town family and friends, and they love it too!!

Went last week. Horrible service! We were rushed to eat. I asked the waiter to split our bill, yet he double charged me and still took the cash from the other ticket we had. The food is no longer worth the $18.00 I paid for a simple chicken plate. Will never return.

Great food prices were high. But the drinks and food were excellent.

They always have lunch specials and I haven't meet one I don't like, lol 😂

I feel it's about average. Foods average. Staff, however is outstanding. Plenty around and attentive. Bathroom needs work. Lots of work! Plus parking is a huge minus. Can't fault La Capilla though...

They have one of the best tortilla soup around, and you get a free meal on your birthday which not to many places do that any more

The place offers a large variety of fresh food. I enjoy eating here. Staff members are always nice, prices are convenient and the spot is always neat.

Love this place. The food is delicious. I usually get whatever the lunch special is, which is one of their regular combination plates for about 7.50 and it doesn't disappoint. This last time was the taco and enchilada plate, both of which were stuffed with beef (my mom got it with chicken, equally stuffed) and a big side of beans and rice. The food is very homey, neither artificial nor fussy, and the portions are BIG. The service is always great, too. The only bad thing I have to say about La Capilla is that the interior is very old and dated, but that kind of adds to its charm.

I took my daughter to eat because it was her birthday and this was the restaurant she chose with 11 others .when I asked the hostess how long would the wait be for 12 people she said 40 minutes.so I told her if I can leave my phone # she said yes and she would call me when our table was ready. So 40 minutes went by and I took my party in and I asked the hostess is the table ready and she said not yet, almost. So i sat with my party at the booths . 20 minutes later I asked the hostess again is it almost ready and mind you we had waited 1 hour already we had small children .I had to keep asking the hostess is it ready yet.The hostess said no.Now we are at 1 hour and 15 minutes later still not ready she said they are cleaning it give us a few minutes.Yet we weren't asked if we wanted water or anything. So 10 more minutes passed and nothing .It was 8:25. So I took my daughter and our party to another restaurant to celebrate her 41st birthday...Bad experience at La Capilla!
