Kushibar Japanese Restaurant & Bar

I always have a good experience here. Very fun atmosphere and great sushi. Go during happy hour so you can get more for less! Crunchy rolls will leave you smiling every time. Street parking can be a challenge.

First of all the decorations are... Interesting. When you walk in there's a huge installment above the hostesses and it looks like... A giant tape worm. We all said it looked like a tapeworm at the same time. Food was the reason I gave 5 stars. Service was slow because it was way busy but the food was quality and worth going back again.

Despite a reservation it took an additional 15 minutes to be seated. Our waitress got 3 or 4 new tables all at once so it took her a while to make the rounds and take drink orders. Once we got the ball rolling service was smooth and timely. Fish was very fresh and flavorful. I tried monkfish liver for the first time! While I can't say I loved it I did appreciate the opportunity to try something new. Rolls were creative and delicious. Sake cocktail with ginger liqueur will definitely happen again!
