You just can't beat the atmosphere here...it is such a comfortable place to relax and eat lunch. The menu changes fairly often, which is surprising for a museum eatery. The food is always good - it's generally overshadowed by the courtyard, but I've never left disappointed.

A beautiful cafe nestled inside the Detroit Institute of Arts. This is the perfect spot for a break after a day at the museum. The place is crowded on weekends, with live music often performed in the afternoons. On weekdays the cafe is not so crowded, making it a good place for leisure reading or even light studying with the option of taking a break enjoying the art at the museum. Free Wi-Fi and reasonably priced Starbucks drinks are available. The only downsides are the high prices, and the limited food and drink choices. Overall, still one of my favorite places in Midtown Detroit.

Great spot for a working lunch! My office is under construction so I popped into Kresge Court to work and decided to grab some lunch. The roasted cauliflower salad was outstanding with generous portions of avocado and walnuts. The vinaigrette was SO GOOD. I've always had a good experience here, the staff is always friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is great and there's plenty of plugs for laptops and chargers.

This is a beautiful little spot inside the DIA. If you are a member you can come in here as much as you want. It's normally pretty quite so you could easily study here. Need a break? Go for a stroll around the DIA and see some amazing art.

Guy working today sucks. Asked for a mimosa and he rang me thru, then AFTERWORDS told me extra oj is an upcharge. You get a full split of prosecco and a half a splash of oj and you want to nickel and dime me about oj AFTER you run my card and I can’t say just add it on. Plus he was rude about it. Been here all day doing homework had 3 transactions, coffee food, then a drink, over the course of 4 hours. Not a single one was friendly or cordial. Not sure what his problem is but next time I stop in if this man is working I will find somewhere else to spend 4 hours and buy overpriced cocktails where at least the service will be kind and friendly. ):

Stopped by for a quick lunch. Cool architecture with a relaxed vibe. Friendly staff and tasty food. Located in the lower level of the DIA but didn't need to pay admission to head straight to the cafe. Highly recommended!

very nice spot to sit and chit chat with friends. (not too loudly!) It is in the middle of the museum, so you can stop and relax before you roam around to explore the whole museum. The coffee isn't that great, but they have some local drinks, and if you are not a coffee snob, it is ok.

Absolutely, hands down a must for anyone visiting the city. It's my sneaky little paradise tucked away in the Wonder that is the DIA. Super tasty food, drink, all with a wonderful atmosphere to sit and enjoy the museum like you never have before.
