Knox Mason - Knoxville

Told the waiter my wife had tree nut allergy. After ordering and waiting 30 minutes the hostess came out and ask us if it was ok if the food was fried in peanut oil. We said no and reordered. We then ordered an appetizer. Dip and bread something that would be quick since we were hungry. We waited another 10 minutes and still had no food. We asked the waiter where was the appetizer. He said let me check. He came back out and said it would be another 10 minutes. At that point we got up and left. The service was awful and our waiter was doing double time waiting on tables and being a bartender. CJs tacos was quick though. Will not be back.

Food was honestly the worst I have ever tasted the fish tasted like an old hotel floor smells sorry but have to be honest

Creative menu. Delicious food. Attentive service. The deviled eggs were a great start. The Kilt greens salad was tasty with that piece of toast hiding underneath and a perfectly prepared egg on top. The crispy sweet chili chicken wings had a unique glaze. The Mississippi catfish sandwich was abundant with a large portion of fries. We will return.

Delicious fine southern comfort food. Many options for vegetarians & vegans, and plenty of good gluten-free choices. The staff seemed well informed for food allergy issues.

Deviled eggs, brussel sprouts and trout are amazing!

The deviled eggs Were delicious. I took some out of town guests, the service was impeccable. One of our menu choices had to be altered(which tells me they are keeping only a fresh stock). My catfish entree had been smoked and then breaded and fried. It was a little greasy honestly. The French fries were top ten.

Nice atmosphere, but food and drinks were sub par. Someone in our party ordered a plain cocktail off-menu—an Old Fashioned—and it was terrible, just pulpy orange juice with a splash of whiskey. Appetizers were small portions for the price, and not seasoned. Half of the mains at our table were burnt. And this was only on a Tuesday night, not a busy weekend! We were very disappointed in our experience, we really wanted to like it because if it’s location. Will definitely not be back.

Delicious pork blade steak, so tender cut it with a fork, preceded by a tasty Old Fashioned. Prompt service and reasonable pricing.

Good spot for casual dining. The outside dining area has a great view of Gay St. The catfish sandwich was nicely prepared and very moist. French fries were crisp and salty.

Great place to get a bite near the Tennessee Theater! Definitely try the pork rinds and the deviled eggs. Everything was so good.

Excellent food, they seemed short staffed but still did a terrific job taking care of us. Appreciate the help ringing in my birthday

I went for the soft opening and have already been back! The deviled eggs and the pâté are out of this world! Great view. Highly recommend.

John was a wonderful waiter. He was very attentive and gave very good suggestions. He made our dining experience top notch, we couldn’t ask for a better date night. Not to mention the food - it was delicious. We will definitely be back!

Honestly pretty disappointed in Knox Mason. I’d passed it by for years and finally decided to make a reservation and stop in, due to a friend recommending it at one of her faves. It was just okay in my opinion. Idk if it was an off night or what. Cocktail was okay, nothing special. The menu is pretty small, which can be good if a restaurant does a few thing really well. Quality over quality, but I don’t really feel as though they do. I personally thought portion sizes were a bit small, for instance, mine said it came with sweet potato and honestly it was more of a garnish. My main dish was flavorless, or at least not as flavorful as I was expecting. It was juicy and tender though which was nice. My husband has the shrimp and grits which were pretty tasty. They have a super small beer selection on tap. If I had friends that were dying to go there I’d give it another shot otherwise, I’ll probably not go back on my own accord. Service was fine, we didn’t have to wait on our server or anything and the outdoor seating was nice. Honestly, I just wanted it to be better than it was.
