Kiln serves carefully prepared coffee of great variety and blends. Espresso or paper drip you'll find what you're looking for including a delicious piece of cake or a Matcha Cookie!

Simple but elegantly executed food in a modern style. Emphasis is on the wood-fired oven and both meat and vegetables are cooked perfectly, with attention to detail. Staff were friendly and made us feel welcome despite our limited Japanese.

Lovely little cafe/bar with push 🚲 bike park at the back. Service is lovely and delicious homemade treats as well as great choices of coffee and tea. Brilliant. Also has toilets and wheelchair accessible

What makes this the place high above others is smoke. I had Thanksgiving turkey. It was the best ever. How is that possible, thanksgiving is my favorite holiday? I have cooked it many times. The answer is:The restaurant has a open wood fired smoke pit. The turkey was given the treatment. It’s akin to browning meats to boost the flavor. This method is gaining popularity. I vote for this one.

Kiln is the solid, confident and relaxed modern French restaurant of Kyoto. Great starters, accompanied by a smart selection of small wine producers, wood fire grilled and smoked mains (chicken or a great selection of Japanese beef). You know nothing else than a good meal and a great evening can happen to you at Kiln.

Came here for burgers as Google suggested. But they only do burgers during the day. At night it's quite a fancy, not so cheap restaurant. We didn't realise this until after we had sat down and looked at the menu and then felt rude to leave. We ended up spending about $150 instead of the $50 we were hoping to spend on a couple of burgers. All that said, the food was bloody delicious. The steak was cooked directly over flames. We watched it get cooked. The entrees we delicious. Only gripe was that the pasta was pretty under cooked. Not even Al dente. Hence the 4 stars. Ive been here for burgers before and they were delicious. Recommend. Just be careful that dinnertime is a bit more fancy.

The best cappuccino i have had in Japan! I had to have two it was so good! You walk in with classic music playing and it just sets such an amazing atmosphere to sit back and enjoy your coffee (or beer) and watch the world go by! A good selection of cakes and friendly staff-a must for all coffee lovers! I would also be a great place for an early drink as they do have small selection of drinks.
