Really good food. Service was great. They really need to invest in a high chair though.

Our second summer visit here for dinner. Again the food was 5 star. The adults in our party ordered either the filet special or the grouper special. Both were outstanding. The really big story however was how gracious the staff, especially Beth our waitress, was with the one and three year olds in our party. The kids had just awaken from naps and were miserable for the first 15-20 minutes. Our waitress Beth never lost her smile while explaining specials and taking our order. There were no discourteous looks from any staff. Bottom line is food is terrific, the martinis are very interesting and the staff was great, especially our waitress Beth!

Kathryn’s was very good, but expensive. We were a party of 5 and we came in just after they opened for the evening. We each had a martini, and had the crab dip and firecracker shrimp appetizers. We each ordered an entree. The food was excellent quality, and arrived quickly. Our server was very helpful but the adage applies, between cheap, good and fast, you can only ever have two. The prices were a little much. I added scallops to my meal, and it cost $15 for 3 scallops. My boneless baby back ribs had a gravy on them that kind of took the whole dish to pot-roast. Next time I will order something else. The atmosphere is nice, but it is a restaurant in a strip mall. With that in mind, again it was expensive, came out to about 50 dollars per person with one drink each and split appetizers. It is by far the most I’ve ever paid for a meal in Emerald Isle. If you go in knowing it won’t be cheap and don’t mind not having a view of any water, you should have a good meal.

Vacationing here in Emerald Isle and read that Kathryn's was the place for great food and service. The wife had the Grouper, I had the soft shell crabs. Both dishes were top shelf and our waiter, Robert was excellent.

Went to try a martini and since the bar was packed we took their offer on a table. However, apparently you have to "eat dinner" to sit at a table. Pretty strange and ridiculous if you ask me. Nothing taken because I am at the torpedo lounge now enjoying a drink anyway.

My wife and I have made this our anniversary spot if we are in town. Their martinis are excellent and the food is superb!

Beth the waitress ruined our experience at Catherine’s, which I recommended to our group since the food is excellent. Bad attitude. Brought olive oil with no bread, my water glass stayed empty until I finally got her attention after ignoring our group many times passing by to wait on others. Smiled & then turned & then made an ugly face. Very disrespectful to a table of teachers!
