Good food and friendly staff

Been going to Boon Kai in Walled Lake decided to try this place it was excellent won ton soup large bowl has lots of veggies with it had stir fried rice with beef chicken and shrimp excellent service was good nice friendly people very clean and their boots are very comfortable for seating I will be back. They also make a very good Long Island Iced Tea

Small, quaint and very good food

I wanted to like this food so much, but unfortunately it did not meet anywhere close to my expectations. I ordered the Pepper Steak dinner combination. The first bite was the fried rice, it was great. They were chunks of white rice, not mixed, near the bottom. The second tasting was the Pepper Steak. This was the worst Pepper Steak I have had from an American-Chinese takeout. It smells like the Pepper Steak I'm familiar with, but the when you bite into it, everything is just wrong. Tough and smelt spoiled after chewing. The same occurrence with the egg roll, it was crunchy and smelt good, but once I bit in, it tasted like sour-spoiled vegetables coated in oil. I am disappointed and will not be returning. This was the only Chinese takeout open during the time, and I wish it could have been a different outcome.

I've been coming here for nearly 25 years, I've watched it change owners several times but it still has the best Chinese food around. Every owner has been very friendly and always remembers us when we come in. Only Chinese place I recommend.

pretty good sized portions! i got the chicken egg foo young and it was three medium sized patties. they give the food to you in dishes and you serve yourself. my only complaint is they also have the rice on self serve platters for the table to share. it was sort of difficult to divy it up, so it being served in bowls would have been alot simpler.

I just want to like it but it is not good. Soup is terrible the egg rolls are so greasy the rice that comes with your meal is barely edible. I ordered almond chicken the gravy that came with it is a thick chicken gravy not good.

Very good prices for the serving size. And its delish.

Not the best chinese/ American water downed restaurant. We eat there occasionally because there arent many options and I dont get to eat it at home (work lunch group) maybe in novi there is but not in walled lake. However....this place is average on a good day. Today everything tasted like it had been charbroiled in a vat of factory oil. The almond chicken is flavorless. The general is soggy. The egg rolls were also charred. And desperately greasy. The cookies were stale as were the crisps to ise in the soup. The rise is pretty much seasoned white rice....slightly seasoned. Its bad....just all bad. Id try the sushi place next door but I dont want to die.
