Ka'aloa's Super J's

Such good food, and good, sweet people. The quaint little restaurant reminds me of my Grandma's house. The pork laulau is the best. I am so glad they use silverware and plates instead of plastic that would end up in the ocean. Mahalo!

We stopped by a late lunch this afternoon. Ordered the triple combo. Awesome, mouth watering, melt-in-your-mouth tender pork and chicken.It's a modest roadside stop, with some indoor seating.Absolutely worth a stop, and we'll be back!

The owners are some nicest people you will meet and their food is amazing! If you want to experience authentic Hawaiian food this is the place to go.

Landed in Kona and my good friend Bob made sure I started on the right foot: he stopped at Super J's and bought me dinner. Everything was just great. I never had laulau before. What a way to start! Super Yum. The potato-mac salad was wonderful, the salmon likewise. It was all good and Super J and J were as kind and friendly as could be. Had some nice talk story at each end of dinner and that makes it all good. Stop by and let these ladies feed you right.

We were on the big island for 5 days, driving more than 1000 miles for food, and although we had some incredible dishes, J's laulau was the single best dish my wife and I ate. The pork was moist, flavorful, tender, and perfectly salty. I would gain 40 lbs almost overnight if this place was next to home, but luckily (or unluckily for my taste buds) it'll remain an island gem and the first place I go on my next trip back to Hawaii.

A classic Hawaiian hole-in- the-wall place. Once you get past the security screen doors, it is a homey place. Great lau lau and atmosphere. Even locals eat here! Do try the haupia potato pie. Made with purple sweet potatoes with a coconut frosting. Guaranteed no calories... Has to be... It was gone in one bite!!!

Delicious. Freshly made laulau right there, chicken or pork—-or both!—and tasty lomi salmon. Lunch was so good we came back again the next day. And ate too much a second time. Very simple ace to sit inside, and J and the family are welcoming. Paid with a credit card no worries. If you’re hungry you’ve found a great place to go.

Definition of authentic Hawaiian food. Super cozy, great service, delicious food for a cheap price.

Small roadside restaurant you could easily miss if not watching for it. Luckily we found it and had a wonderful authentic Hawaiian lunch. Very nice people! Great lau lau and kalua pork. We’ll definitely be back!

Stopped to take food back to our condo. The kalua pork was really good. So was the lomi lomi. The laulau we're good however a little too much taro leaf for my liking. Still good. Ordered potato salad opened it to find pasta salad. Oh well still tasty.

How local and authentic can you get. Limited options but good home cooking food

Literally the best food I had on the island. Actually some of the best food anywhere. Not only is the food RIDICULOUSLY delicious, but it’s served by the nicest family in the world. I enjoyed both eating here and talking to the J’s. I will be dreaming about the lau laus until I have the chance to make it back.
