This the green. Simply a park in the middle of downtown which I learned is where slaves were sold once upon a terrible time

It's a nice place to sit, relax, have your coffee and enjoy the weather. However, as with most big cities I'm sure... always be aware of your surroundings. Most all locals will greet you with friendly, casual hello's or light conversation. Use caution when being singled out and approached with anything bordering enthusiasm, as that person probably has a hustle they use regularly on "new" faces, or worse case, the occasional demanding beggar who will turn on you for the crime of not having a cigarette or "a dollar for the bus" 🙄 (most beggars are pleasant and move on from a no quickly, some even have some good jokes to lighten your mood!) I'm not talking about them, mostly the hustlers really.

Nice place to sit it's always something going on there's a lot of homeless people so a lot of good citizens come out and feed the homeless and hungry as well as giving cosmetics for them on the green. No one bothers you it's a great place to grab lunch at local restaurants and go eat it on the green or just go for a walk bus stops all around it the green

We met with a family member here for lunch and a walk. It's safe, nice and beautiful. I would recommend it.

Beautiful park to relax, but must be aware of your surroundings. I did not feel safe at all.

It's a nice place on a early fall's day, late spring. Nice to see the Yale students out playing guitars and throwing frisbees. Expect a pamphlet or piece of paper telling you how bad humans are for whatever causes are in the news that week.

It is right across from the new haven police station...So the fact of the matter is it’s actually a safe place where all types of free events happen.It’s usually clean and heavily patrolled in uniform and plain clothing.!?After all it is right across from the Federal building as well...

A nice place for a morning walk.

The New Haven Green is a beautiful place where lots of events happen! Located near Yale University and churches and so many of the buildings have beautiful architecture! Also, many great restaurants are right nearby and within walking distance from the green.

Lovely square in the middle of New Haven. Particularly beautiful on a sunny day, however the city doesn't maintain it particularly well and there's trash everywhere.

Historic Downtown New Haven is beautiful. There is always some kind of festivity provided free of charge by the city, including free concerts every summer. Great place for local families and visitors alike.

New Haven Green is nice when it's the summer time.. They got a lot of free concerts threw April-Sept
