Junglebird - Kalamazoo

Jungle Bird is hit or miss, at least for me. I've been here twice. First meal was great; had the Ropa Vieja: the bomb!!! Second meal: not so much. Great flavor coming out of the El Gaucho, but the steak in there was a bit chewy. I'll give them another chance, but it may be my last.

I had the best experience here last night, such a good atmosphere with really good food. Our server was really sweet and the service was fast. Will be coming back (:

BEWARE! These jungle birds are THIEVES! They WILL steal your heart. 😍 The gorgeous and talented staff will go to any lengths necessary to please and pamper you. My standard expectations for service have been smashed and I fear I'll be let down by every other restaurant in perpetuity. My server literally gave me a foot rub while I ate, simply because I offhandedly mentioned that I couldn't remember the last time I had felt pampered. The dreamy and delicious bartender sat at my table and fed me perfectly crafted cocktails like a Greek goddess being delivered grapes from a cherub until I transformed into the embodiment of Dionysus herself. For dessert, the manager offered the table (on the house), a lifetime of devotion and tenderness, and I said yes, a thousand times yes!💍🥰 I came for upscale Tiki drinks and Caribbean fare in a swanky downtown Cuban jungle atmosphere, I stayed for love. My only complaint is that the uniforms aren't smaller and more revealing, these JungleBirds should not be caged up.

Really wanted to love this place but was very underwhelmed. The positive is the atmosphere was very cool. We had high hopes. The service was terrible. We weren’t really checked on and our water wasn’t refilled until our meal was gone. One person in our party ordered a soda they didn’t get until our food was brought out (about 45 min) and they asked again. Never got a refill. We asked for salt because the rice and beans were bland, we never got salt. We ordered the potato croquettes, they were for sure the best part. Downside, we asked for them as an appetizer and they came with dinner. They were also barely warm, which leads me to believe they were sitting and never brought out. I would have told the waitress, but she didn’t come back until the meal was done. The Birria tacos were not good in my opinion compared to others I’ve tried. Little to no cheese. For the price, very disappointed. We won’t be back.

The atmosphere is such that you feel like you're not in Kalamazoo - you're in some trendy new restaurant in a big city. The service was great and even better is that the food is unique and flavorful. Glad to have Junglebird in Kalamazoo and will definitely be returning.

Very good Caribbean food with a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Great idea for dinner with friends

My wife and I visited last night for the first time, and all the staff was super friendly. The atmosphere was fun and exciting, and the food was delicious. This is now one of our favorite restaurants to go to.

My chicken thigh was just ok, came out warm. Felt like it was sitting around for a little bit. My kids cheeseburger was a joke. Burger was Dry and the bun was way bigger then the patty. My wife's ribs were on point. Service was good and the staff was nice but I wouldn't come back here. Way to expensive for the mediocre food we received.

One of the best decorated and upscale looking restaurant in the Kalamazoo area. Very noisy with music and guests. Limited food menu, in restaurant menu has less offerings than their online website menu. No provided or validated parking.

The house queso was amazing! Drinks are a little pricey, but good. Key lime martini is amazing.

We came in during happy hour to celebrate my birthday and overall were happy with our experience. The restaurant itself is really pretty inside and has lots of seating inside as well as some seating outside. The Carribean Sticky Wings are amazing and were easily the best part of the meal. Food is pretty good, but things are on the pricey side and does not always feel worth the price depending on what you order. Happy Hour drinks were good and fair priced, but I don't know if I would pay full price for them. Service was okay, not the best or the worst I've experienced. Would come back for the sticky wings and happy hour for sure!

Very good service, very good and fast food, and the drinks were amazing. Kalli H was our server, and she was very attentive and present throughout the meal. Will definitely come back.
