J.T.'s Genuine Sandwich Shop

The sandwiches were fantastic—being from Iowa I know pork tenderloin sandwiches and this one was nice and thick with great breading. Highly recommend this shop—if you like Midwest comfort food sandwiches this place is great!

My husband and I went for lunch on Saturday, and it was amazing! I ordered the fried chicken sandwich...YUM! I also asked if I could have a bite of the fried pork tenderloin sandwich my husband ordered, and it was so good that I didn’t give it back. I’m not ashamed!

Food was great! Owner was very friendly and accommodating. Great addition to the neighborhood!

This place is awesome! Glad I found this gem. This will be my new favorite to go spot to grab a sandwich or burger. The owner Chris is super friendly and often comes to the dining floor to meet and greet his customers. Highly recommend this place.

The chicken sandwich was excellent. It was very flavorful and had just the right amount of breading (not too much). It’s nice they add the sauce to the sandwich and give you extra on the side. The prices are extremely reasonable. Atmosphere is great; very clean and nicely well done. The staff was very friendly and the owner (chef) brings out the food himself - I have always liked that at a restaurant. Plenty of parking. Looking forward to going back!

Probably the best all around eating experience in the Irving Park and Portage Park neighborhoods.

Everything on the menu is good. But a special shout out to the chicken sandwich, best in Chicago. It's run by an owner/operator. Great guy and great staff. Ask him about the Vienna Beef poster signed by Hot Doug himself!

Unparalleled food— everything is so incredibly fresh and well-prepared. This lovely spot deserves every star. Honestly, the “Darn Good Burger” is one of the best burgers I have ever had. It’s juicy; balanced; and so delicious. The Tenderloin sandwich is also incredible. Don’t miss this restaurant!Can’t wait to come back.

A gem in the neighborhood! Upon entry the place looked neat ,clean , and had great natural light. I was impressed with the owners(chef?) friendliness. My burger was great! Amazing! My friends all enjoyed their meals and even the cookie the amazing. My only complaint is the our cashier was a bit rude. However the owner/chefs attentiveness overshadowed her and we still had a great meal and experience. Chef, the 5 stars are for you. You rock.

Drove all the way from Iowa to try the breaded pork tenderloin sandwich and it was worth every mile! Chicken salad sandwich was made with mounds of chicken and the flavor was delicious!! Kids ate their whole meal....enough said!!!!

5/5 Chicken sandwich—> the chicken was very crunchy but juicy when you bite down. It’s very simple and the pickles added a nice touch. Not expensive at 7.50 for the qualityI just got the basic fries which were good but next time I may need to get the chili cheese fries.Staff were very friendly, parking was easy, place is clean and cozy. I will definitely come back to try the “JTs special Burger.” Gotta keep the weight up!

Super good. I’ve had 4 different sandwiches and they’re all excellent. The French fries are incredible. Decor and music are next level.You can’t really go wrong here. Go here instead of McDonalds!

Great food, very clean space, very kid friendly. Fresh food at a good price. Came here multiple times in one week, tried different sandwiches and did not disappoint!

Steak and potato sandwich was excellent!! Cute and cozy storefront on Elston Ave. Chicken sandwich also very good!! Can't wait to try the rest of the menu
