I thought this place was very good. Having been to the Jolly Pumpkin in Traverse City, I was surprised the way this one was set up. You order everything at the counter or bar and then find your own seat and they bring you your food. Also, one of the things we loved when we first went to the location in Traverse City, was the complimentary curried potato chips (which are amazing). I was a little bummed that in Detroit you have to pay for them and they come I. Bags and aren’t fresh. In all though, we enjoyed it and the food is very good. There is a good possibility we will be back.

A wonderful establishment that takes its' beers seriously and doesn't neglect the culinary end of things either. Every beer is made with passion and care. The chicken sandwich is probably the best that one will find anywhere north of the mason-dixie line. The truffle fries are also no slouch! To top it all off, the interior feels very welcoming and the service is wonderful. My favourite brewery in Detroit hands-down!

Another edition of one of the best tap houses in Michigan. They have it down to a science by now.Usual selection of AMAZING sours from JP and more standard fare from North Peak.Great food, highlighted by the pizza.Super easy going atmosphere, as with all beer places the volume can rise a bit as the night goes on.Staff is knowledgeable and friendly!

This place is amazing. Tons of different beer options (lots of sours). The thin crust and the fresh toppings makes this pizza is phenomenal. Also has a great atmosphere. Would recommend.

I previously visited Jolly Pumpkin in Traverse City and was absolutely thrilled with my experience, but this Detroit location a slight step down. Pros:A stunning and visually appealing atmosphere Wide variety of beverage options Excellent sour beers Chicken sandwich was remarkably goodTop notch pizza Cons:Caesar salad was surprisingly flavourless Bartender wasn’t particularly friendly Felt rushed to order While I love Jolly Pumpkin, this particular location was far less memorable than my initial experience in Traverse City. With improved service, I would bump this up to 5 stars.

13 sour beers on tap. Best burger in a long time. Mushroom 🍕 is top notch. Very good cheeses all around.

Fantastic establishment! Their pizzas are unique and always delicious, and the bar staff always has an excellent recommendation for beer, if not a handcrafted signature cocktail. Service is always amazing at the bar. I recommend seeing Miguel. He's a really nice guy, who know what the hell he's talking about! The tables are, well, self serve, so really if you wanna comment of table service, it's really based off your own initiative, and intuition on where/how to order. Hands down I'll be returning again and again!

Great Brewery & pizzeria! Did not try the pizza, but absolutely love the Rosemary aioli and truffle fries! Probably the best truffle fries ever! Sour beers are the standard here. Everything that passed by looked delicious! Great little area in the Cass corridor! Lots of space and indoor and out. Great patio for sunny days!Follow me on Instagram at withlovefrommiche for fun in Michigan!

Terrific local joint with a broad assortment of brews and excellent pizza options. Get the truffle fries!A couple quick notes (if anyone reads this)A. There's not always a waiter at the door. Grab a menu from the clear holder on the wall as you walk in and find a seat wherever one's available.B. You can order pizza AND drinks at the bar - have the bartender start a tab and you'll get a service number.C. With your table service number, food will be brought straight to your table.

Sour beers unlike I've had elsewhere and creative cocktails for those who don't swing that way - all on top of a food menu that looked far better than normal pub food.

Me and my lil fry-guy are truffle-fry lovers so this was our after-auto-sho choice, I tried the wings for the 1st time today, I think they forgot to add the sauce, they tasted jus like regular wings and weren't suppose to be. I think we'll jus stick to the truffle fries. #detroitchic

I really enjoyed eating and drinking at Jolly Pumpkin. It's casual dining (considered "self serve") so you need to go up and order your food and drinks. Note that this is different than other locations in Chicago and Grand Rapids etc, where it is full dining. I enjoyed that spacious environment (we were able to seat four in a booth no problem), and the vast beer selection.
