Jinchu Sendai International Airport

Small but lovely little airport with easy fast check in, security and boarding. Nice cafe downstairs, and lovely little perks like a telephone from boarding lounge to land side where you can say a final farewell to your loved ones. Also a cool rooftop viewing platform for those staying behind in Sendai to watch flights take off and land.It was easy to get off my flight and walk 4 mins to a waiting train, and be heading into central Sendai within 15 minutes of landing. Same on the return home, very quick and convenient.

Small for an international airport. Despite this, there are many souvenirs to choose from and samples too (especially kamaboko, a fish cake famous in Sendai). However, there aren’t many restaurant options. You can also easily get confused by the domestic and international wings, because they’re on the same floor. Head upstairs for more lounge space or visit their small & free airport museum.Security is quick and easy. No need to remove shoes. Customs, upon arrival, might take a few minutes if you’re a non-citizen.Recently, I flew with Peach, which uses self-check-in. I was flying international, but the kiosk was in the domestic wing. Kiosks were separated with confusing signs, with some machines for domestic flight use (though in reality it doesn’t matter). Most everyone checking in was confused, and airport staff plus security didn’t do much to help. I arrived 3 hours early but couldn’t check-in until maybe an hour before my flight. Maybe it’s just a Peach Airlines issue...

Access from Sendai station by access line arrives in 17 minutes is very secure.It seems to be small for an airport with a population of 1.8 million people.There are few types of souvenirs, and food stations and smartphones' charging spots are also small?

Small airport. Well organized and friendly staff has rail access. Open space to sit and wait for your flight has a rooftop to view all the planes coming in and leaving.

Very convenient, a short walk from the Skytrain station to the departure terminal. Not chaotic, casual, loading luggage through Immigration came to the boarding point, there is a duty free shop. There are souvenirs to buy for modest. Considered ok

Airport

This is a nice, small airport. It was very convenient to park out front, check in, and go through security. We did not have to wait in a line, and only had to walk a few meters to our gate. The architecture of the building is also really cool.
