I waited a long time for the reopening of this establishment to be disappointed. Last Saturday, I experienced cold fish, cold fries, I requested hush puppies twice. I also requested another order of fries that were also cold and soggy, not to mention the wait. I told myself they I’ll give them another try. Yesterday I returned. I waited 45 minutes for a to go order. No hush puppies, the white beans did not have a lid, so my ALREADY COLD fish was soaked in juice from the beans. Every time a worker came out who claimed she was the co owner. I overheard her saying she was SORRY as she brought orders out. NO HAIR NETS!!! I’m attempting to understand if the food is cold what is the long wait about. I tried, but the food was so much better at the smaller location and STEAMING HOT!!!! I expected more, for what I paid for. Money is not the issue, but if you are providing a service - DO BETTER!

Food was incredibly good. Taste and portions of the catfish and fried okra that I ordered were right on! Just might want to call ahead with your order. That night they were so busy that meals took 52 minutes to be served.( Others know good food when it's around is my guess) Wait staff were cordial and apologetic for the delay. Jimpa's is some good eatin'

Love the catfish, fries, onion rings, coleslaw. Was disappointed with the chicken didn’t even eat it. But the service is good. Prices are average and again the catfish is amazing.

Meh...the chicken tenders were moist, but I didn't like the sweetness of the breading. The fried pickles were on the salty side. Also, the coleslaw had a strong vinegar flavor and had a lot of liquid. I did enjoy the white beans and hush puppies. The staff seemed overwhelmed by the surge of customers that entered around 6:30 when my family did; which was when they ran out of catfish fillets and served the last shrimp to the couple in line ahead of me. I received the last chicken tenders.

Food was hot, but tasted awful. Slaw tasted like the mayonnaise was ruined. Fish was really salted heavily, and the white beans had an awful taste, and was salted heavily also. It was a waste of money. Never again! Needless to say it went in the trash.

I’ve been looking forward to this place opening. It did not disappoint! The food was 11 out of 10 as well as the staff. The hush puppies are to die for. The fish is so filling, I couldn’t even finish. Normally, when I fry fish at home, I feel weighed down afterwards. Completely the opposite, here. I can’t say enough. WELL DONE, GUYS AND GALS! I’ll be seeing you soon and often.

No exaggeration-- the best friend seafood in Georgia! I had heard about Jimpa's but being a seafood lover from the Gulf coast, I didn't expect it to live up to the hype. It EXCEEDED all expectations! Be prepared to wait 30-45 minutes, and definitely call in "to go" orders and you'll have the best seasoned, tastiest seafood around!!!

The new location is fantastic. I heard of a few rocky start stories but y’all have to remember that there are always small, resolvable issues when a restaurant first opens. They may not be a new food place but a full time lunch and dinner service is new to them so please be patient! The food was fresh and hot and the lunch specials are a great deal.

If I could give more stars I would. We ordered on Friday night. Man oh man!!! That catfish was cooked perfectly as were the hush puppies! We all had different sides and they were all wonderful. Cannot wait to order again. Finally, a catfish place that does it RIGHT!!!!!

Stumbled on a post on Facebook talking about this place! The owner is the son of the owner of Uncle Bud’s that used to be on South Cobb back in the day!! I went the very next day! There’s a wait....because everything is fried on the spot....a sign posted notifying you of the wait time is the first thing you see as soon as you walk in the door! It was well worth the wait and then some! I’ve been back again and it didn’t disappoint! I’m planning to do a take out order for my dinner tomorrow! I cannot wait!

Missed the mark. Came at 6:00 on a Friday and they were out of many items, and other items were going to take over an hour to come out. Once I got my food it was OK at best. The onion rings were strangely "sweet", the fried pickles were very salty. Also, I ordered a 3 PC whole catfish, but was charged for and got only a 2 pc, which was fine since it wasn't really that great. Also, for the price you pay ($15 2pc meal without drink) you should be getting much higher quality food.

Unfortunately, the food was not as good as it was at the previous location. Used to get fries, slaw, & white beans ... now only 2 sides. But the 3 stars is because my wife's chicken breast was undercooked (pink). The "manager" was in denial - didn't even look at it, and explained that they "use a timer." She offered to cook another piece or get something else, at least, and honored my request to refund us for the meal.UPDATE: Reduced rating from 3 to 1 when "owner" responded with the nerve to say we were wrong & the chicken was fully cooked. No, you will NOT see us again ... ever!Update #2: I just read other reviews. Wishing I had done so before convincing my wife to go. Your problem is the pitiful excuse for staff. I know, hard to find good help. Stop trying to cover up the failures & fix it before you loose your business completely. I wondered why it was a "slow" night remembering how the other location was always slammed. Now I know.

The hype for this place was incredible so we decided to give it a try. The wait was extremely long, not a problem for good food. Well, sure enough after a 40 minute wait everything we ordered came out cold. The coleslaw was warm, the service was not good, we had to ask twice for our drinks. Do not try the calabash shrimp even if they recommend it! It is frozen shrimp that have absolutely no flavor. Cold catfish filets don't taste very good either. The batter in the onion rings is more cake batter than crisp , and may have been a high point of the meal had they not co.w to the table cold. I wish I could this place a better rating but expensive cold food does not do it for me

Questions & Answers

Thank you Valencia! Our catfish is farm raised and when they are feed the food pellets float, so they are never feeding off the bottom of the lake...therefore, no swampy taste. Great to hear we've made another fan. We'll see you next weekend!

I don't know. I would ask them. They serve a lot of fish!

We will temporarily be opening at 4pm on Saturday and Sunday. But the other hours are correct.

Hey Jennifer and Debbie! We are finishing up our remodel at our new location at the corner of McCollum Parkway and Cobb Parkway. We will hopefully be reopening in the next few weeks. We'll see y'all soon!
