When my friend told me "the best burgers in manhattan, I was a bit skeptic. Now I tried them and she's probably right! Plus a delicious cheesecake and friendly service.

There's nothing wrong with simple comfort food done right. I had the outstandingly juicy and tasty burger, crispy cottage fries, and chili to dip them in. While the chili wasn't my favorite, it had a nice freshness to it. Service was great, water was topped off often. A bit pricy.

My favorite burger in NYC, hands down! I love a burger where the beef is the star and that is ever present at J.G. Melon. Their beautiful burgers come dressed with gooey American cheese, house made pickles along with lettuce & red onion, the whole ensemble is simply perfect. As if this burger couldn’t get any better, you have the option to add bacon! Do yourself a favor and add the bacon. In addition, J.G also offers a dynamite homemade chili which nearly rivals the superiority of the burger. I’m a huge fan of their bar atmosphere, it’s usually lively with good people and you can easily bypass the wait during peak hours. For drinks I recommend ordering the J.G. exclusive cocktail called the Bloody Bull, which is essentially a Bloody Mary prepared with beef consommé, which is wonderful change of pace. Come to J.G. Melon on any occasion to enjoy the complete mastery of their burger, it’s so worth it.

Blue Plate Special is hard to pass up after a day of walking in the city. The beef is the star. I had my burger plain with just the pickles/onions they serve it with and it was very flavorful and juicy! Will be back next time I visit!

Hands down one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Friendly and attentive staff, cute decor, nice ambiance overall. They played good music as well. Planning to try to the location closer to home soon.

I must say, pleasantly surprised with the prices here. The burger was delicious, and the amount of bacon they added to the burger was delightful. Excellent keep up the good work!!

We took advantage of the happy hour special—burger, fries and a beer for $18. The food was delicious! Pleasantly surprised based on the price. Service was excellent as well! Would definitely return.

Great burger. Ordered the bacon cheeseburger and didn’t love paying 14 dollars when I saw the price on the menu, but they don’t skimp on the bacon and the burger was fantastic, so it was worth it for sure. The cottage fries were tasty but could use some salt. The service was phenomenal. Our waitress was super attentive and was on top of everything.

Good place to take a burger and some fries. The place is a little bit small and this creates a bit of noise. Not recommended if you want to be calmed. But apart from that, attention, hamburgers and fries are great.

It's a great burger! The BEST burger? Probably not. The bloody bull is a an interesting take on a bloody mary. Cool spot with watermelon themed decor.

Classic joint with down to earth dishes that are priced fairly and hit the spot. The fried chicken sandwich is very good but the chicken could use some more seasoning. Fries are also coin shaped and a little less crisp than they could be but still good regardless.

The burger was juicy, everything was perfect. People couldn't stop looking at me.

An extended Happy Hour on Mondays is a great find in the city, especially in the bustling neighborhood. The Happy Hour food menu is small, but on the bright side, there's a Happy Hour food menu! I ordered all three sliders for $15 and my favorite was the bacon cheeseburger. The description here says it's cash only, but fear not, we paid with cards and were met with no resistance.
