Hotel stay is NOT required at all. Just go though the front door, make a quick right turn and you'll see the elevators. During the some weekdays, if you run into a formed line, you can either wait (there is NO check-in or fee) or just come in another time. It's a great experience. I strongly recommend it. Nice photo opportunities. All the staff are used to just visitors. You don't even have eat or drink anything, you can just walk around there. Have fun. ?☀️?

Answered by previous poster I would suggest going by public transportation if it all possible.
