Japanese Restaurant Kyosuzu

A fantastic experience for my first visit to Japan. Our hotel concierge booked the reservation in advance on our behalf, providing directions with photos as it is easy to get turned around.The courses are unique to the best available fish that day and the menu is your souvenir as photos are not allowed inside. Of the food, the different types of tuna were amazing. It almost melts in your mouth the way beef can. I've never had such beautiful tamago either. For dessert, we were given a melon and I haven't been able to stop daydreaming about it days later. All in all, very well prepared and authentic sushi.Service was accommodating for our limited Japanese.

Truly a master. The experience is strict; you're told what to do, how to do it and to do it quickly. This is obviously upsetting to some people, but if you can accept that, what's left is a world of sushi paradise.You'll enjoy a sushi course of approximately 20 pieces. Each piece of sushi is made with Jiro's special rice which has a distinct vinegary taste and a fluffy texture I've never before experienced. The fish are the best quality, obviously. Probably most people's favourite would be the fatty tuna which melts in your mouth to create a flavour explosion as it mixes with the rice. Other points of interest include the salty octopus, thick mackerel, delicious uni and unique salmon roe. You get to see the man in action and get an autograph at the end. I recommend this experience to anyone who wants to know what the pinnacle of sushi tastes like, or at least, as Jiro would say, as close to what's humanly possible. Enjoy!
