Jamaican Cafe

I have been coming to the Jamaican Cafe for years!!!! Mrs. Vivian and her family has proven to be top notch for their customer service and definitely 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ For those awesome oxtails!!! She has proven to be very resilient as well after having to rebuild after the accident that closed her down for a couple of months. If you have an opportunity to stop by — whether it is for lunch or dinner you can experience “ superb Jamaican cuisine” and genuine Jamaican hospitality. I love ❤️ the oxtails and the awesome cornbread but my husband cannot live without the jerk and brown stew chicken. The Jamaican cafe deserves this thumbs up 👍 for a job well done ..... from the first moment that I came through the doors until now - - many years later .... Mrs. Vivian and her dedicated family has still been serving up the same awesome cuisine equivalent to their awesome customer service!!!!!! ALWAYS!!!!!Thank you and may God continue to bless you always!!!

My first visiting was today and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. Located in a non descript area. Small restaurant but nice and clean on the inside. Tables for seating. The guy working was very friendly and sociable. I got my usual jamaican fare of oxtails - the meal came with cabbage/veggies, rice and peas, and cornbread. Sadly they didn't have any plaintains or yams today. They had their own juice and other jamaican drinks. He even left me get a few pieces of curry goat - the curry was not super spicy, it tasted really good. Good serving portion - good size pieces of meat. Food was not salty or tough. Good seasoning and tender. Food was really good, even though it's a hour drive, I'll be willing to return.

Food is not authentic. I had the brown stew and sampled the jerk chicken. The rice had no flavor along with the meat. Just store brought sauce poured on top. Customer service was slow as well. I knew after the sample I did not want it but to appear polite continued with my purchase. Good for Alabama because mostly locals are eating there who have never left the state.

This is one of my favorite places in Mobile. I visit multiple times per month. Friendly owner and staff. Top notch food in large quantities. I recommend it to everyone.
