Jakes Uptown is a true local Texas Tradition of "Burgers, Beer and Atmosphere" since 1985. Henry James said once "it takes an endless amount of history to make even a little tradition" and we've made more than a few burgers, served a lot more than a few beers, and we've hosted more than a few parties.

The burgers are freaking delicious!!!😋 Prices are not bad either. You definitely get what you pay for, and the portions are filling (the burgers are huge by the way). The service is great, and the staff are friendly and helpful. I highly recommend the Jumping Jack's seasoned fries with the marshmallow sauce. I know it's really meant for the sweet potato fries, but it's a real treat, and I'm not a fan of sweet potatoes anyway.

The bartender was very unattended to me. The double cheeseburger was great but they forgot my extra cheese however they did bring me a slice out. My bill was 21.10 put down $40.10 and the bartender did not see my dime. Like I said unattentive. She gave me back $17 in change which only gave me $2 for tip. What's not worth a $5 tip. After she realized I gave $2 tip she did not clean up my area as I was in trying to enjoy my beer. Too much money for not very good service.I would have been very happy to give her another $3 if she cleaned up my trash off the bar.however right in front of me she was on her phone. It's nice to stay enjoy my beer without my uneaten food and trash in front of me.
