Jackson's Big Oak Barbecue

It started well when my daughter said they have the good ice when they delivered our drinks. Eastern Carolina Barbecue fans will be impressed with their sauce. They have a tomato based sauce which is good too, but it pales in comparison. My vote is for the vinegar sauce. Corn nuggets are slightly sweet, crunchy outside and gooey inside. Collards are slightly spicy. And who doesn't love canned peaches. Worth the trip.

Great food great staff. Don't live or work close to there anymore so it's hard to get there. Well worth the drive. And they already know you want your sweet tea to go so it's in a styrofoam cup from the git-go. You won't be disappointed. Just get there early for the banana pudding.

Delicious fried food, large portions at great prices!

We wanted to go someplace different for lunch today and decided on Jackson's. We haven't been there in years, but after having lunch there today, we will definitely be going more often! Great food, friendly and fast service and great prices. We cleaned our plates! Jackson's is a good old fashioned bbq joint. Highly recommend!

Fast friendly service and good food

This place hit the spot! With the feel of a small town bbq restaurant in the city it was spot on. I had the bbq plate with green beans and fried okra. Husband had shrimp, ribs, and fried chicken combo with okra and Mac and cheese. Everything was delicious and service was spot on. You get a good amount of food for the priced, great quality and value!

Great food at a fair price..

Might be my favorite bbq joint in the USA. Pulled pork and bbq sauce are fantastic.

I absolutely love this bbq place. We stop here a lot when in Wilmington visiting my Mom and family. It's a popular place to eat for locals. It's one of our favorite go-to places to eat. Reasonably priced and a great selection of southern style food. The pulled pork is king! Their house bbq sauce (eastern Carolina style) is so good. They also have some fabulous fried chicken. They have some great side dishes but my all-time favorite is the fried okra. I love fried okra and theirs is some of the freshest and best. I also love me some sweet tea and their tea here is out of this world great! I'll always return to Jackson's BBQ!

This may be one of oldest BBQ restaurants in town, but it is still the best spot for pulled pork!

This is the definition of southern comfort food. Fall off the bone pork ribs, delicious Brunswick Stew, tasty corn sticks and hush puppies... Extremely courteous and friendly staff. Be sure to check out the beautiful, massive oak tree that's part of their namesake.
