JA Jiaozi Authenic Dumplings

I came in for a quick lunch before work. I had the shrimp fried rice with bonito flakes, and the steak skewers. The fried rice was amazing. Some places it can be sticky. It tastes like they make the rice fresh. I enjoyed the bonito flakes. I'm a steak lover, and theirs didn't disappoint. It was so tender and melted in my mouth. The dumplings other diners we're eating looked delicious. I'll have to try them on another visit.

Thought it seemed a little pricey for the amount for portion sizing, but the place was cute, staff was nice, and their food was tasty. You can watch them hand make their dumplings. They do have few kids meal options not listed on the menu and provide children with their own tableware. Bathrooms were clean and they have a changing table (on the women's side, couldn't check the men's).

Wow! This place is delicious and the service is fantastic. You can watch them make dumplings right in front of you. We didn't have to wait long, but it seems like it tends to get crowded, so I would suggest joining their waitlist on Yelp. You may have to look for parking since it's in a rather large shopping plaza. I can't wait to come back!

I went here on their grand opening day during lunch time. The restaurant was modern, clean, and very much westernized for a dumpling restaurant. The hostesses and waiters were attentive. The kitchen was slow as we had to wait quite a while to get our last dish. On a relative basis the prices are high, but on an absolute basis the prices are fair. The dumplings tasted fresh and overall I enjoyed my meal.

The dumpings are made fresh. The dumplings are good but I feel that they are a bit undercooked. I ordered the Shrimp Jioazi which was OK. It was not amazing and not horrible. The outside dough part and texture of the dumplings is good but the inside filling is another story. I ordered the roasted Angus beef skewers and after the first bite the "roasted" part sunk in to my kind. The Angus beef was soft and chewy at the same time. Meat quality used is average for the skewers. I also ordered the steamed beef and onion Jiaozi which was also average. The fillings used is what is average here. Staff were friendly and customer service was very good here.

This place delivers and then some! The place was clean and modern and I loved watching my dumplings being made in front of me. The server was attentive without being overbearing and the manager checked on us and genuinely seemed interested in our output. Had the signature dumplings (my friend thought it reminded him of a flatter xiao long bao), the chicken and mushrooms dumplings (it was the least touched, but still pretty solid), the assorted/combo dumplings (great way to try a wide variety) and the shrimp in shrimp broth which was by far my favorite. My companions ordered the pork belly (it was soft and immersed in a flavorful marinade)and the green beans which everyone devoured in a hot minute. Seriously the best green bean preparation ever!

I'm a fan of shrimp fried rice and this did not disappoint. It was so good. I need to come back for some dumplings because they all looked good too. Service is outstanding, and the restaurant is clean. You can even watch the chefs prepare your food. I will definitely return.

This is my second time here and it's honestly such a cute little restaurant! This time i got the chicken and mushroom dumpling, the pork and celery dumpling, a cucumber appetizer, and the braised beef with quail eggs! Overall the food is really good and delicious. The beef was so tender and flavorful. The dumplings were super yummy and reminded me of the dumplings i used to make as a kid! I wish there was a bit more variety with the fried rice or with the noodles, but I would definitely come here again!

All dishes are elegant here. The price is fair and environment is awesome. I recommend this rainbow jiaoZi. Each jiaoZi is filled with different filling. The fried rice cake is too sweet for me but the raspberry sauce on the top is amazing.

Great food, great service, can't wait to go back. My favorite was the sweet n sour fish, cucumber salad and the beef and onion dumplings. Employees were really awesome, I really appreciate that.

Unique dumpling options, nice and semi attentive staff. It’s nice that you can be on the waitlist without having to physically be there (through yelp) but the wait was still a long while - maybe because of the limited number of tables but I felt like I saw empty tables take a while to turn. Overall, great to try if you’re in the area.

Definitely one of my favorite Chinese restaurant in Irvine. Modern take of traditional Chinese dishes, well prepared and beautiful presentation. Dumplings are absolutely fantastic, juicy, flavorful and delicious.Door open t 11:30 and there is always a line outside the door before their open, a very good sign for any restaurant.

We loved the place. The manager and server were great. The food was great. We liked the chicken and mushrooms jiaozi steamed. The rice cake was on house and it was great. Loved it.

We've driven passed this location a few times and decided to stop in today. Very nice location with an upscale appearance. We went during lunch so a limited menu was available. The Angus beef appetizer was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Both the pork dumplings and chicken mushroom dumplings were served steaming hot, no pun intended. Both were delicious. Several sauces we're available on the table. Drinks were good and served quickly. Priced moderately with lunch and drinks for two was about $40.
