I am from the bayous of Louisiana and there gumbo is very good, but needs more chicken and sausage in it. The jamaliya is another good dish. Highly recommended.

The Drunken chicken was magical, I usually go for the Jumbalaya but they were out tonight so I hit the Drunken chicken and booooooy was I happy about that. The Drunken chicken was 100% the play, getting it every time from here on out.

While this little spot tries to spice it up. They are a bit pricey for this kind of fare. Good food and authentic and lacking any viable competition places them at the top of the list for Creole.

I had a fierce craving for Cajun and Creole food since coming across J Gumbo’s. It’s more of a takeout kind of place, with fast service, but maybe sacrifices some of the quality.The gumbo and bumblebee stew were great, but our other two dishes, bourbon street chicken and crawfish etouffee left me wanting more. The chicken in general was too sweet, and the etouffee was thick and lumpy.I may come back for jambalaya, one of my favorite dishes, and see how this place does by it. Their half/half option is great for first timers or those who just can’t decide on one.
