Izakaya

We went out with my wife last night and decided to try this Izakaya. I have to admit it was better than I expected. Food was great, the spicy ramen was amazing and the service was absolutely top notch. I highly recommended to try Izakaya.

First time going, ordered quite a bit for my,moms bday and everyone enjoyed it, definitely going to have to get some ramen next time.

I mean it's good, no complaints... Nothing crazy special but I would go back again if I was in the mood. I don't eat out much tho.

Got really excited when this place came up during a web search for another Izakaya. Convinced my partner to give it a try after reviewing other comments on line. The parking should have been a giveaway; trashy, unkept and not maintained, poor street appearance. We walked in and the interior didn’t look much better. Should have left then. But like a toothache, I wanted to try the food. The tempura was crudely chopped hunks of vegetables, greasy, and without flavor. The Hamachi Kama was large and looked okay but had a fishy smell to it and the presentation was lacking; some shredded cabbage and a small dollop of grated radish and an equal amount of dipping sauce and half a slice of lemon. Oy! The several pieces of nigiri looked okay, but we’re not spiced with any wasabi or sauce and the sushi rice was atrocious; it wasn’t even sushi rice but mealy, overcooked and flavorless plain rice that tasted awful. We asked the server if the Tamago was home made, in the restaurant. She assured us that it was. When she delivered it it was the industrial orange yellow, homogenized tamago, which we sent back. The staff was clearly not familiar with the menu and didn’t know their own dishes. Definitely not Japanese, and that included the ‘chef’. We spent over $120 on this meal. It thought me not to rely on general reviews, but trust my first instincts. Avoid at all cost.

This unique little ramen place almost turned me away for not having veggie options but after chatting for a minute they said "well we have ramen and udon if that's ok" lol yes ramen is ok! The ramen was great and the server was nice. I really liked the dive bar kind of vibe too it felt homey.

Got the sesame chicken (to go) and it was so good! Great portion size, perfectly ✨️crispy✨️ chicken, yummy sauce...I will for sure be back!

New to the Sacramento area.. Decided to give The Izakaya a go, and I'm glad I did. I ordered chicken teriyaki and "real" California roll. The teriyaki is delicious and the portion is HUGE.. came with rice and tender broccoli on the side. The roll was also a very generous portion, full of tasty snow crab and ripe avocado. Everything was packed nicely and staff was kind and efficient. 5☆

Although we hit the Happy Hour, HH, the ramen price after HH is reasonably price and husband always eats a bento box, which is bout a HH item yet is priced reasonably good too. Food is always fresh, i.e. salad, sashimi. Drawback: HH brings in a waiting line...and parking is sometimes limited if busy that day.

This is our new favorite spot. Staff is so polite and greets you right when you walk in which I love. The food is always great the wait time is not long at all maybe 10 - 15 mins if that. Bento Box is our thing and they have over 7 items to choose from. Pricing is reasonable. You will not regret it.

Tried and true ramen spot. House spicy ramen is so good. Never drive trough the area without stopping for lunch.

It was nice, steak was a bit tough, service was great, from where we were seated, fixtures, walls, etc. could use a good cleaning but happy hour is worth it.

A favorite Japanese place. Affordable and delicious. Good selection. Booths open to dine in. Brought a mom friend and her daughter here to try Japanese for their first time! They loved the bento boxes!

The staff are prompt, the food authentic Japanese taste, generous servings, clean above all the prices are reasonable. Great find for me.

The sushi, ramen, bento meals and the service are wonderful. But then...there's the happy hour menu, so, so, so wallet friendly. I appreciate the food most of all, they serve alcohol (beer and sake), they have specials menu on the wall and something for the non-seafood lover also. Bring a friend...so they can bring a friend...and their friend's friend.

YES!! This is really good Japanese food at very inexpensive prices. Most of the ramen dishes are $8. The Bento boxes are very large, and also inexpensive as well. Me and a few friends were in town for work, and it's definitely a tourist-friendly place. Tons of free parking! Highly recommended. If you're not sure what to order, I'd say go with one of the soup Ramen dishes. For 8 bucks, you can't beat the price, and there's a lot of meat and other stuff in the bowl, not just broth.
