Ithaca Bakery Triphammer has really gone downhill in the last few years. They've lost some very good staff, and the leadership is clearly lacking. This morning I stopped and was practically the only person there. Ordered a lightly toasted bagel with cream cheese, something very basic. The cook was too busy talking about snowboarding to another staff, so my bagel came out partly burnt, and with so little cream cheese it was laughable.

This place is absolutely amazing!! The food, the staff, the environment, the variety, everything here is amazing. It's easy to walk into this nice little shop and feel like you've been a regular every Saturday morning for the last 20 years. It has a cozy feel with the typical coffee shop look and it feels perfect. The sheer amount of variety from the healthy to indulgent, food and drink alike, is astonishing in and of itself. The staff are genuine, want to be there, and want customers to feel welcome. The only problem with this place is it's in an unfortunate location in terms of looks. The Triphammer "Mall" is unfortunately not a wonderful sight but, on the bright side, it has some great establishments. At the end of the day, the Ithaca Bakery is one of central New Yorks finest little discoveries and I would be happy to bring any of my non New Yorker friends to give them a taste of CNY and some vegetarian chili.

We are! We are at 50% indoor capacity plus many outdoor tables.

Given your description, I'm guessing the place you visited was Hal's Deli on Aurora Street which, unfortunately, is no longer in business. But we'd love for you to try ours (400 N Meadow St or Triphammer Marketplace) and compare.

They do make them, but we eat there for lunch daily and sometimes they have them and sometimes they dont! Maybe call ahead..
