First of all, one of shops at the Italian Market cheated me badly this morning. It is terribly disappointing when I checked my plastic shopping bag at home. In the bag, there supposed to be 6 lemons, 2 fresh paprika and a green cabage which I paid $4.50. BUT there are 5 lemons, and the yellow paprika was bad and much smaller than the other paprika. Check my photos. I picked the shop because it looked it has more variety.I wish I checked the bag when the shop gave me, but I trust people so I didn't. Especially the guy put back a yellow paprika after checking the other one, so I assumed he picked a better one for me, BUT apparently he cheated his customer with the quality and quantity....I cannot understand. It was the first time for me to buy fruit and vegetables at the Italian Market.Cheating and lying, those are the things of which I have never expected but happened at the Italian Market.Sorry to say: BE CAREFUL and CHECK when you buy anything at the Italian Market....

Best place to get a variety of meats and produce in South Philly. I have been coming here for my entire life.

Sooooo many different kinds of produce, fruits, vegetables and meat to get here! I saw so many fish here so if you're looking for that you will have many options. Everything is so cheap and well priced! On top of produce there are people selling a variety of miscellaneous market items like clothes, toys, nic-nacs etc. This is a great place to browse and shop especially when the weather is nice

I use to love this place now I only tolerate it back in the 70's to the beginning of the 90's it's just not the same anymore. At least not the 9th street Italian market I grew up with.

This is the place to be if you want fresh vegetables and fruits at prices that are way below supermarket. The catch is you have to know your produce and fruits because sometimes it looks good but will only last 24 hours. The vendors at the front near 9th street have the highest prices but also the better products, however, as you go up the street, it gets cheaper but you have to be more vigilant about your selections.

Went to Claudios, my favorite cheese shop. Family run, great staff, highly recommend, only note it's their busy season, be prepared to wait

Love the annual festivals and year round vendors. Restaurants are the best in town

Very interesting place, great for your Italian provisions/specialty items. Unfortunately, many if not most of the Little Italy's across the US have all but dissapeared, however, I was pleased to see businesses still owned and operated by Italian American families.
