Irish Rover is a pleasant Irish pub in Astoria/Long Island City.I went on Saint Patrick’s Day, and can’t say I regretted it.The crowd was classic American Saint Patty’s Day- drunken and sloppy. At some point a muscular, young, Irish(?) bartender had to physically toss out a wasted patron, and this patron didn’t go out without a bit of a fight. A middle aged man with long red hair and a backwards scallycap joined in and assisted the bartender in ensuring that the culprit was evicted post haste. It was an entertaining train wreck, and a perfect scene for Saint Patty’s Day at an Irish pub.

Really solid neighborhood pub. Drinks were good, bartenders personable, prices fair. Luckily they are close to our apartment and I’m so glad we finally got the chance to check it out. We will definitely be back.

They don't call this one of the top black out bars in NYC for a reason. Great kickbacks, bartenders are super friendly and the taps rotate. Great place to drink, watch sports, day drink or end the night! Love the rover!

A marvelous place that I've frequented on many occasions. The barstaff is always quick on their feet to keep telling bar wet. The yuppies stay away from this place and it's evident from the good times and lack of douche at this place. They also serve a Shepard's pie, but it's more of a snack than an actual kitchen produced pie.
