Great food, a lot of vegan options. Went with a large group of people (7 adults, 2 kids) on short notice and order was fresh and spot on. Have not had a dish I did not enjoy. Currently my go-to spot for Indian food.

Best Indian food in Grand Rapids

This is easily our favorite Indian food in town. The food is delicious and we always enjoy talking with the very personable owner Tony.

My husband stumbled upon this jewel hidden on Division Street. We parked in the back and entered the back door. I had Chai, which was really good. The vegeable pakora was perfectly cooked and the mango chutney was just the right amount of sweetness. Lentil.soup was an explosion of flavors with a little heat. The lamb madras and chicken channa were delicious. The naan and parathma balanced it all nicely. Friendly staff, fresh food, pleasant atmosphere. Lovely dining experience.

Used Uber eats to get food from here. There was the option to substitute certain items to make it vegan so we did. Food arrives and there is chicken in it. Not sure what the food actually tastes like since neither of us can eat it. If they can't make something vegan that is fine. We would understand, but there shouldn't be the option for it then. Samosas were okay.

Tony has owned this restaurant for over 30 years. The ingredients are exceptional and I highly recommend India House! The entrees are the best Indian cuisine I have ever tasted.

Best food I have ever eaten. Wow!

Poor. We walked in on a slow day. Only one man was working, but he was on the phone and didn't greet us. He brought our menus and walked to the back still on the phone. After a while he came to take our order, and I'm not kidding halfway through my order the phone rang and he walked away to answer, then to the back. We left after this. He wasted so much of our time before ordering that waiting for him to actually prepare the food would have been ridiculous. I normally go to Mount Everest for Indian food. And they are absolutely amazing! But India House left me hungry, and disappointed.

The food was very good. The experiment was authentic. Often when you order Indian food it has been Americanized, this was the real deal.

Highly recommended if you love curry

We only ordered take-out... so its purely a review based on food. The aloo dish was amazing, probably the best we had ever had, but the butter chicken was sadly very oversalted. This was on New Years Eve, so maybe they were having an off night, but my first impression of this place was not a great one due to their food being 1:2 ...and the reason was over salting.... kind of a rookie mistake. I have heard good things about this restaurant, though, so I feel compelled to give them another try in house.

I was so excited to try this place. But boy, was I dissapointed. I normally don’t even write reviews but I want to warn people to not waste their money here. It was not only the worst Indian food, but the worst food I’ve ever had. My dish was 10% tomato sauce and 90% water. Only pro was that it was made fast. And it was more expensive than any other Indian place I’ve tried in GR. And I’ve tried them all.

Sauce watery, rice fine, chicken so soft and gross and chewy. Bread had a soapy smell. Geez
