This place has been around for year's and it's a hidden gem when it comes for food. With not a place to sit and lines that are long it's well worth the wait. You can get a whole loaf of fresh french bread as sub.

Classic deli style sub shop. The prices are fantastic, the sizes are abundantly filling.The guys doing it take their time and there's often a line. But bear with it for a great sandwich.

This shop, IDEAL SUBS SHOP, has the most outstanding food since Spinelli’s in Dudley. I would like to see them get a separate ‘Phone Order Operator’ so a patron can get through for large orders. Otherwise, outstanding.

There's always a line to the door and for good reason. Their subs are on point with perfectly chewy bread and the lunch meat is sliced to order. All with a price that makes you forget you're in Boston.

Great place good price good food

This is a family owned spot that has been in Roxbury for years. This place is usually busy so it's best to fax your order in advance. They have the best subs ever and the prices are so cheap. But the quality is definitely not!! Everything is made to order, and the meats are sliced as your order as well

They're subs are DELICIOUS my favorite is the tuna fish I tried calling and no answer Sadly disappointed that you can't order online and no delivery service definitely worth the money been coming since 1989 and the many walks of life definitely holding it down Love it just be prepared to wait

Ideal Sub Shop is one of Boston's true hidden gems. I had my very first sub here 36 years ago. The food was great then and it is still great today. All meats and cheeses are cut fresh to order and your tuna salad is mixed right before your eyes. The line can be long at times but it moves at a good pace and it speaks to the quality of the product. If you are impressed with other sub shops "foot longs" then you will be blown away by Ideal's "whole bread subs". Please be aware that this in an old school cash only business. In summary; great people, great prices and great food. 👍🏾

Best sandwiches in Boston, hands down. Cheap price, high quality and always good. A little slow given the often long line but it’s worth the wait.
