Hwy 55 Burgers, Shakes & Fries

Waited 40 mins food food, at less than 50% capacity. Same dirty tables remained dirty until after we left. Food was barely acceptable. Over salty fried pickles. $20 bill for 2 small burgers with fried pickles, water to drink. However one positive was the wait staff.

This place was given advance notice that a group of 20 or so was coming. Got there , ordered a salad , an HOUR later it gets served and it was not a good one . NEVER again .

Came in about 9 on a Friday night. The place looked like it had just had a surge and the staff didn't yet have a chance to clean up. The Burgers are tasty enough, but a little skimpy in size considering the price and competition all up and down WHB. The buns were soft and fluffy, but fell apart. The fries, however, were awesome... If only they were served with the burgers instead of half way through the deliberately slow ate meal!!! The flavored Frozen Custard shakes were definitely a highlight. Overall service was friendly but lacking in performance.

This was my first ever visit and they had a bug in my 2 year olds fruit punch! Nasty. Never will be going back! Would give 0/10

Very good music, I recommend coming to hwy 55. It's a great place for after church gatherings, sports events, date night and hanging out with friends! The food was great and so was the service! It truely put a smile on my Face! Thank you! My Mom even enjoyed it and the music from her youth!

Very interesting decor. Good food and portions amazing. Had rootbeer float.

The worst meal I have had, way to salty, more. Read than bacon, burger was ok at best. Server was nice but slammed, waited 20 minutes for the check. Others were complaining as well..I’ll never go back.

This is the second time visiting and I got to tell you both times were awesome. Food is delicious extremely generous portions and fairly priced. People have to remember this is a restaurant not a fast food joint SO waiting for your food and will be worth it. They were extremely busy and seemed short-staffed it took a while but their friendliness and food made up for the slow service. I recommend anybody try this you will not be displeased.

Great bit of nostalgia here. I was not around in 1955. But, if you were, this is a great throw back to a bygone era. Burgers, fries, hot dogs, hoagies, shakes and ice cream, cheesesteaks. Even shrimp and some pot roast. Great place for American comfort food. I LOVE the chicken cheesesteak called "the moose" (pic shown). It is a pile of grilled chicken with bacon and ranch dressing. I mean, who doesn't love chicken, bacon and ranch? The fries could be better. But, hey. The cheesesteak makes up for it. Good for simple comfort food. Worth a visit if you have not been.

Really enjoyed this restaurant. Shakes are good and I love the custard. Burger is really good, but mine was a good bit thinner than the burger I have had previously at another hwy 55, otherwise it would have been 5 stars :)

I ordered a BLT and fries. To say I was disappointed, is being nice. The bacon was overdone and the fries were undercooked. I nicely complained to the waitress and all I got was oh, sorry.

Retro styled restaurant with good, not great food. Nice service, but perhaps a little pricey. Very clean and easy parking with traffic lights access to Wade Hampton Blvd.

First time here. Love it! 50's themed ,with great food, large serving and good prices.Staff is very friendly and attentive. Donna our waitress was amazing. So kind, she made us feel special.Can't wait to take my kids. The burgers are delicious and the cheese steak was great but unfortunately slightly greasy. Tots are the best I've had. They also have a special ice cream everyday as well, today was peanut butter bacon with chocolate swirl. Different but good. Highly recommend and I'm a tough critic😉

Amazing food! Although workers were a bit loud while conversating, it didn't disturb me. Highly recommend if you're looking for a good burger and ice cream.

Food was fantastic!! Service was perfect. A great atmosphere. All around a terrific dinning experience.
