Hottle's Restaurant

Went for the re-opening. So happy they re-opened! Food was fantastic and service was excellent! Truly, a hidden gem. Look forward to returning, again.

Fresh look. Fresh selection of seafood and traditional favorites. Gotta check this one out.

Don't know what Hottle's everyone else went to and reviewed but this place sucks. Service was ridiculously slow and no, they weren't busy. Waited like 30 minutes for two dozen clams that still weren't done so I asked for our salads (which was the best part of our meal), got a dozen and waited another ten minutes for the second one. Meals came out, my husband ordered the surf and turf, steak didn't even look like a filet and wasn't cooked right .Baked potatoe was like it was sitting for hours under a lamp, couldn't eat it. I ordered what was supposed to be shrimp Alfredo .Alfredo sauce was watery and disgusting tasting. We will never come back here again.

The owners of this restaurant are big slumlords. Prior owners ran it wonderfully. COLLEEN BURNS AND Mr. JOE BURNS are just riding on the old Hottles good name. Con-men and that is too good of a label. They do not pay their Bill's. They have numerous lawsuits filed against them for unpaid bills and are about to have another for fraud among other things. Beware this restaurant. It was recently closed due to code/health violations. So was their bar next door, Donahue's think its named. Closed due to health violations and unpaid liquor order bill to state liquor board. Hottles same way. All properties they own...dilapidated shacks. People renting from Collen Burns all complained on Facebook and were thrown out due to dangerous code violations that Burns' wouldn't fix. 10 families in Plymouth and a big house on 199 West River St Wilkes-Barre. Bad. With a Capitol "B". Lawsuits with a capital "L".

This use to be one of our fav restaurants so we were thrilled to hear it reopened. The decor upgrade is a plus, but the food was a downgrade. The menu isn't as extensive and the food is prepared in a more family-style, low-end way. Not the top shelf quality we were accustomed to at this restaurant. A great disappointment.

We had dinner there last night and were greeted warmly as soon as we walked in. Despite not having a reservation and it being a busy Friday night we were seated right away. The service was prompt and the food was excellent! Our server was taking care of quite a few tables and one couple at a nearby table were very unpleasant. But the server handled them so graciously. Overall a wonderful experience. We will be back again!

Can't wait to go back. Large portions and lotza style to the menu. Great decor, brings back old world dining!

Always have and always will.

Food is delicious! Two major problems, however. One, place wasnt busy and we waited forever for our food. Turns out the waitress never placed the order. We are on limited time so this was a major setback to our time frame. Two, order did not come out right. Ordered 2 crab cakes and only received one. Potato was wrong. Veggies was wrong. Again no time to wait for fix. Long wait for drinks from bar. Food is great, but beware for slow and mediocre service.

Nice place for steak or seafood, had the lobster and shrimp, it was good. Nice happy hour, although no draft beer. The staff are friendly, but it is in new ownership, so they are still all new to area. I suggest to try it out and know that Hottles has been there for over 80 years.

Have gone there many times over the year and the service and the food or just as good now as they were 15 years ago

Food was excellent, and the service fantastic.

The food is phenomenal!!!!! And if you get this dish ( Seafood Paella) bring your appetite it has shrimp, scallops, clams, calamari, and a 4 oz. Lobster tail. Served over rice. TO DOE FOR !!!!!

Food was fantastic, and prices are very reasonable. We were first timers, but will absolutely be back next week. Owners and chef are awesome. They talk to you like the have known you forever.
