Legendary Charleston BBQ joint finally bringing the fire to Soda City. The BBQ, wings, and other offerings are as delicious as you'd expect from any of their other locations; shout out to the chopped brisket sandwich and all the tasty sauces. Atmosphere and service (thanks Josh!) is first-rate. This will be a weekly staple for years to come.

Our waitress, Anna was very polite and courteous! The food was absolutely delicious and we didn't have to wait long for our order to come out. It was nice and fresh! We highly recommend this restaurant.

This place is my favorite. I go to many restaurants but to this place I constantly return again and again. The team is very professional and the cooking they offer is so flavorful. I never miss an opportunity to have a nice meal in this restaurant. Highly recommended.

I waited and waited for Home Team BBQ to come to the Cola, they are also in Charleston, SC. They are located in historic Five Points in Columbia, SC. Plenty of free parking, this is a college town area. So I wasn't surprised at the location. This is a large restaurant with plenty of seating, bar, TVs, and a area for a live band. The service was very slow, it took forever for a waitress to come to our table. The manager did apologize for the inconvenience. The drinks were very good from the bar, food was alright, nothing amazing. Our waitress messed my order all up, he never came back to check on us. They need more staff on a busy Saturday afternoon.I was really disappointed, but maybe I will give them another try in the near future. This was a mixed bag for me.

Outstanding BBQ restaurant. Nice service great food choices. Price matches any other BBQ joint. Atmosphere great for families as well as hanging with friends watching sports. Will return soon!

First time going to this restaurant and it was pretty busy. However, we were greeted as we walked in and decided to have a takeout plate. The restaurant is casual, fairly big and plenty of televisions for sports. I order the half rack of ribs and two sides came with it. My sides were mac n cheese, which was not tasty at all. My other side was hash w/rice which was good along with the dry rub ribs. The also gave a little box with a roll(yummy and soft), two pieces of pork skins which was not fresh and a side with pickles and onions. There is a parking lot and we were lucky to find something close. I would recommend this place.

Their brisket was really good. Tasty and it wasn't dry at all. Their sauces were good as well. They have outdoor seating but it was too hot to eat outside today, in my opinion. We were lucky to get a couple of bar seats as soon as we arrived, which is first come first serve. Otherwise, there was around a 30 minute wait.

Definitely the best food I had in Columbia. The staff was great and very accommodating for a group of 11. The bbq was delicious, with moist brisket and perfect pulled pork. I enjoyed the wide variety of sauces 6 in all. Phenomenal appetizers especially the pork cracklins. Don't forget to try the boiled peanuts as they have a nice kick. Make this one of your stops!!

After all the hype, I was really expecting to be wowed, which I was not. Cons: Really unimpressed with the sauces offered, which was too bad since the pulled pork really required sauce. Mac n cheese was fine, but collard greens I wouldn’t recommend - far better options for them elsewhere at great Columbia restaurants. One sad Hawaiian sweet roll to go along with the lackluster meat platter and I wasn’t overly impressed. Pros: The brisket was excellent (chopped) — probably the best I’ve had in Columbia, but Texas ruined me with higher standards. Beer list was extensive & also enjoyed the seasonal sangria (not pictured). Overall, I’d come again if someone wanted to go, but I wouldn’t suggest it myself, unless I was really really craving brisket + a beer, which you might be!

This was my first visit. We loved it and will be returning in the near future. Wait staff was very friendly, and the food was wonderful. We got the platter for 4-6 people so we could sample several things. All of it was mouth watering. I highly recommend this place for some awesome BBQ

First the food was really good. The pulled pork, mac and cheese, and especially the smoked wings were all delicious. But even more so the customer service I experienced was top notch. When my fiancé and I walked in we were seated but no one came to take our drink orders for almost ten minutes. Being our first time obviously they were not making a good impression. After the waiter apologized and we received our food, the manager came over to personally apologize and told us or our meal was on the house. Then as we were leaving, he apologized again and gave us a gift card for our next meal. This to me is what customer service is all about. He took two people who potentially would not have returned due to a poor experience and made us returning customers due to an amazing customer service. Home Team is fortunate to have such an individual working for them, and we will be back and I definitely recommend Home Team to anyone looking for great BBQ in the Columbia area.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is upbeat and comfortable and we got speedy, polite service from our server making our visit okay. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre and does not live up to the hype. We both ordered the pulled pork platter and the portion sizes were small for the price that they are charging. Most of the meat was tough and chewy - some to the extent that it wasn’t edible. The sauces that we tried were all watered down. Had to use a lot to get flavor over all of the meat. The chicken and white bean chili was okay, but somewhat bland. Nothing special. The pork rinds that came with the meal were so hard that I was concerned for my teeth and eventually gave up trying to gnaw on it. The Mac & cheese was creamy and tasty and I did enjoy the house made pickles.

They got the sauces! Great gathering spot to meet friends and family. Tasty pulled pork sandwich (not Texas BBQ, but scrumptious nonetheless). The biggest surprise was that the portions weren't at least up to Texas size for what you pay for. That being said, I had no leftovers ☹️.

Food was excellent! all of us really enjoyed our food- had pulled pork, pulled chicken, sausage and brisket. Mac and cheese was awesome. Liked all their sauce options, especially the vinegar and hot sauce. Great dining option downtown/5 points- parking is terrific. Did not have high hopes for today because we know this restaurant just opened last week- but (despite busy lunch crowd) service and food were both outstanding. Very impressed, we will be back!

Questions & Answers

Yes and wonderful food

They are open Monday's, however, they are closed Monday 5/20/19 in order to catch their breath and learn from their opening week. I do not think they anticipated the large and warm welcome they received opening week. Restaurants are always crazy the first couple weeks when learning the ropes and expectations.

Hi Mackie! Most certainly! We have local craft beers & domestics, well drinks, an assortment of quality whiskeys, wine, and of course our signature frozen Gamechanger cocktail and frozen Irish coffee! Hope to serve you soon!
