Downtown Oakland, the area is Jack London Square, the place is the old dinner next to Everett and Jones. The place is hip and trendy and caters to those with the late night munchies for some soul food. The place was clean and most of the staff were friendly. The chicken was nicely seasoned and hot out of the fryer.Cons: There is a particular young lady, who was having a bad night or just didn't want to be there. She is definitely in need of being retrained and redirected in the art of customer service. But this one rotten Apple could ruin the bunch.

I gave them 5 stars because I love the food. I can happily have breakfast for dinner 7 days a week, and their waffles are delicious, so it's a no brainer for me. But if you like good service then this is the wrong spot. They are hella cool, but sometimes you have to ask several times if you want something. Other than that, food and alcoholic beverages are on point. Also, this is a very busy spot after club hours, so get there early if you don't want to wait in line Friday and Saturday nights.

I loved when they had a spot in Walnut Creek. But I’ll drive to Oakland for their food any day! Chicken breast and waffle are my go to. That combo creates happiness in my morning. My guy got a spicy Bloody Mary, but they forgot to salt his glass as requested, so he started off making a mess by adding his own salt. And then he added Frank’s Red hot because it wasn’t as spicy as he likes. The food came quickly, and hangry was avoided! Try dipping your chicken in the syrup and then into Frank’s red hot - delicious! And now we’re of to the Sunday farmers market, on a beautiful fall day! Life is good!
