Both stars were earned entirely by Kimberly. She was extremely polite when I brought my concerns to her attention. That being said this isn't the first time I've been disappointed in the service and the food. I will not be returning which I'm sure won't hurt them as this is a long established spot in Tacomas 6th Avenue district but its worth noting that its not meeting the standard it had earned in the past. Very sad.

I am convinced that the quality of any restaurant is evident most clearly in the attitude of the staff. If you are waited on by people who seem happy to be doing what they are doing then your own experience will be just that much better. Which...is why I've always enjoyed eating at the Hob Nob... It's not unique in it's menu or extraordinary in it's decor, setting or venue... It's a diner with a small bar, well used booths, some counter seating and a view of wright park... Nothing particularly of note, but...BUT... Everytime I've been there I've been served by people who seem to enjoy being there. Which says to me that the owners are doing something right... And if they care enough to keep their employees happy then it stands to reason that they care about the people that come there. I've never been "wowed" by anything there...but I don't expect that...I go there to be comfortable, enjoy food I'm certain will be prepared well and served in a timely manner. The Hob Nob isn't someplace I'd go out of my way to take people to or travel to eat at but I find myself there often because I work nearby and it's the best option in the area for a meal I won't be disappointed with.

Eggs Benedict poached eggs were hard boiled and the extra extra crisp bacon I ordered was almost raw. They did wind up fixing it, but it kinda ruined the moment as my wife waited for me to eat.

The staff are all friendly and very helpful. The Gravy is the best in town. Very clean atmosphere. I will recommend it to everyone.

Absolutely delicious breakfast, will def be going back!! All the employees were super friendly, and despite having a line out the door still managed to make their jobs look easy getting everyone served fast and with a smile. Thanks y'all

This was our first time eating at Hob Nob and we were not impressed by the food. I got the vegan skillet and my partner got an egg skillet. We both agreed that both dishes were bland and disappointingly mostly potatoes. Apart from that service was great!

Canned biscuits and luke warm $4.00 coffee kinda blew it for me. Two of us for breakfast was $48! Omelettes and coffee. That's too much for what we got. Liked the place but didn't love the food.

My mother and I dined in here for lunch. The view of Wrights Park is phenomenal. Our server was fantastic and the food came really quickly. Price point is great. The food, particularly the fried pickles, was quite delicious. My mom had the chicken & waffles. The presentation was on point. She liked it. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because there weren't options (that I saw) for people with food allergies. This is a pub establishment meant for a straightforward menu without overwhelming the customer. Which I can appreciate. Just personal preference. Would definitely stop in again. Definitely recommend for a casual dining experience.

This restaurant captures the gritty charm of Tacoma perfectly. Nestled in an old brick building across from Wright Park, stepping inside feels like a journey back in time to the friendliest spot in town. The ambiance, a blend of vintage diner and cocktail bar, sets the stage for a unique dining experience. The food, a delightful mix of flavors, caters to diverse tastes, with yummy options for both vegans and vegetarians. A must-visit for those seeking a taste of Tacoma's past with a delicious twist.

This is my to-go small hole in the wall with delicious comfort food. We visited today and our server was kind and attentive. However, it was obvious that one of my pancakes were undercooked and barely had any color to it. Secondly, I asked for my eggs cooked with little yolk and I received overcooked rubber eggs. I wasn't able to actually enjoy my meal due to having things remade or fixed , causing for my country fried to be cold on waiting for my eggs. I was over it at this point and decided to just my items home and was still charged 19.00 for them not getting my order right twice. I'm disappointed

This establishment holds a special place in my heart. My first partner and I used to have breakfast here every Sunday morning back in 1999-2000. After 24 years, I still come here! The food is great, the people are fantastic, and the atmosphere is very "Big families having Thanksgiving together" chatter all around! The wait can be a little long on the weekends, but I highly recommend!

Our first time in and really great experience. The food was great. Staff were friendly even though they are busy. Popular for brunch so make sure you allow time for about 20-25 minute wait at times.

My friends like this spot more than I do. The waiting here is endless and I don't know if they just don't have enough staff or what but we always have a 30+ min wait to be seated, it takes forever to see your server and to give them your order. They don't check back on you, refill waters, or do other basic ongoing service. The food is really average greasy spoon quality which has a place but the low quality service and slow cook time makes me wonder if it's worth it every time we go. At this point, if my friends want to go to hob nob I kinda feel like I might just stay home.
