Very well kept and accessible place. They provide big portions and for reasonable prices. I liked the food very much and the staff were super attentive and explanatory. Will definitely recommend this restaurant.

Yes, Mr. Hillery(founder and owner) passed away several years ago... He was a Kind and Wonderful Gentleman that did Ribs RIGHT... My family have been going to Hillery's since 1975(I was only 6) to the original Shop in North Chicago and fell in Love with the SIGNATURE Rib Tips and Hushpuppys... All the food is fantastic! The Bbq Sauce is a bit different than other Bbq sauces as they go but, Try them out... You wont be disappointed... Lastly, they have 3 locations in the area... North Chicago(they unfortunately had a BAD fire there years back but was told they rebuilt it), Waukegan(northside on Lewis ave. South of Sunset/golf road) and Kenosha Wi. (On Sheridan Rd)... Thank You Hillery's...

Unfortunately they aren't big fans of answering their phones but even more when they are busy they hardly never answer the phones. Only during the day when they first open and they're less busy then every once in a while they will answer but dont get your hopes up... lol.... better just to walk in.
They absolutely do not serve baked beans or Mac and cheese.
