Hidden Pearl Cafe

This place is pretty cool and for those that did not know it they also have a bar in the back!

I ordered an iced latte, which was alright. Maybe it was the sugar free syrup that kinda gave the latte an off taste. The barista was nice. The inside was pretty nice, it’s different. Similar prices as Starbucks. Sadly, my latte had more ice than beverage.

Finally stopped into Hidden Pearl. What a great coffee shop! The espresso was good. I could taste the fruitiness of the coffee bean. Staff was friendly. Looks like they have open mic and poetry nights. They have a bar area in the back, which I didn't go see, but will soon. I'll be back for sure. Glad to see the shop open!

This truly is a pearl hidden away. A casual place where you can sit alone or in a group comfortably. A great meeting place for business or friend meetings. We're all looking forward to the reopening of the new location.

One of my favorite places in town! The staff is always friendly and engaging, the coffee, tea and everything I've tried on the menu is pure deliciousness! There's always great conversation going on, interesting people and a very relaxing and chic atmosphere to enjoy! Highly recommended.

My friend Sarah just brought me a regular cup of coffee from here and wow! It was the best cup of coffee I have had in a while. Full bodied almost like cowboy coffee without the grains. I’ve never been here but I’d recommend them on that cup alone.

Cute shop on Green Street in McHenry. Very comfortable atmosphere. They have the usual assortment of espresso drinks, coffee, tea and sweets. I think they also serve sandwiches but we were just there for the coffee.

Mold smell is unbearable. This alone would keep me from going back. Pricey sandwiches are OK at best. Teas are great though. Was really hoping this could have been a new go-to place for me

Great atmosphere, great coffee, and great people. If you are in the area, make sure to stop in. Plenty of seating and privacy for groups. Perfect place to get something done or simply enjoy some time with the family. Best coffee in the area.

Neat and quirky coffee shop, helping to bring something different to old downtown McHenry. Great food and polite, friendly service, I enjoy my weekly visits there. May try an evening visit to see the Open Mike offerings.

Went in the morning, and was busy and seemed understaffed. Had a ham and egg sandwich, person who was taking orders said it would take a few minutes. That's fine. When it came there was a long red hair in it and I politely told the staff and she apologized but made me pay for a new sandwich, which was a little bit of a head scratch but not that big of a deal... I was hungry. Second sandwich was soggy, and not seasoned. Coffee was fine, I ordered a bullet proof and they forgot the butter. My girlfriend ordered a vanillia latte but she got a caramel one. My girlfriend has a gluten allergy and when she asked if they had any Gluten free options they said the pretzel buns. Needless to say, I do not think their pretzel buns are gluten free she was in the bathroom for a long time.She went and told the barista and she just rolled her eyes, apologized profusely, then walked away. Probably just a bad day but regardless I will not be back.
