While the food was great, we should not have been there over 2hrs for a 8:30 reservation that was seated close to 9 and had a 10 to 15 min gap between courses.

A Fan favorite of mine, Helens has great food. I've only been for Sunday brunch and they don't take reservations that day so expect a wait outside of this small place. I waited 45 minutes, so don't go on a rainy day as there is nowhere to stand inside. Service is prompt though. I love their shrimp and grits and they make a killer bloody Mary. Allow plenty of time to park and walk with the usual Fan issues. It is a really small place and noisy but a good atmosphere otherwise. I probably need to go again during the week.Went back on a Tuesday during Richmond restaurant week and was seated immediately with a reservation.

Helen's is a charming place to enjoy time with friends. I just ordered beer after an event and it was just the perfect place. We sat in the back and it felt like home, even though it was my first time being there.

Brunch menu is incredible, the eggs benedict is pretty good. Service is awesome, but be ready to wait 20-45min if youre coming in on Saturday or Sunday between 10:30-1pm. Interior is very interesting, love all the lights. Good coffee. Definitely worth a try.

Best restaurant meal I've had in a while. Each dish was perfect. Service just right. Atmosphere excellent- you can hold a conversation.

I had a $14 tab. I had a $50 bill I needed to break. It was a Friday night. They couldn't break it. I paid for my tab on my card and they gave me $25 back. They basically stole $25 from me. I didn't tip because of that. I'm never going back

Food was excellent - vegan veggie scramble is super good. In a historic building with a lot of character. Service was fantastic. Def recommend when visiting Richmond.

I've been the bar at Helen's many times but recently I was taken to Helen's on a date. We sat at the front window seating and I was wowed beyond belief. Omgoodness!!! Why haven't I done this before. From the steamed muscles to the chef originals I can't wait to work my way down the menu. Atmosphere amazing as always, drinks a delight. Thanks Helen's Team

It's a great place to go if you want really good drinks and waiting in line for hours just to go to the bathroom.

Delicious, upscale, creative dishes in a relaxed atmosphere. Helen's has been around since 1935, so you know they're doing something right. Only knock - just seemed a little pricy to me.

Disappointed with the menu selections. It was not very busy at all and our dinner was very slow coming out...no explanation. Food was just ok, portions were not generous at all.
