Pretty great Dim Sum place in Boston. Bonus - more "normal" in that they come around to your table with the different offerings for you to eyeball and then pounce on should your appetite get the best of you.

I thought the staff was polite for the type of restaurant. There was enough seating that we didn't have to wait even on Lunar New Year. I believe there's both a first floor and a bottom floor (?). The Dim Sum and general Chinese Food were on the better end of the range. The variety is standard but with a few additional and unique offerings like Spicy Crusted spare ribs and a yellow cake that was the equivalent of a gigantic Corn Bread. This restaurant is just outside of China Town, you can see the Gate to China Town from their front steps.

Currently having the kung pao chicken. It’s so good. Nanna is the best.

Dimsum is best and delicious! The price is reasonable. Ginger and scallions lobster is cooked delicious and fresh, right on time. Current price is 25.99 (1.5lbs). The only thing to remind if you drive is to pay for parking in garage for 26 all day or 10 cash after 6pm. Hard to find street parking with $2/hr. Everything is in walk distance like freedom trail.

Great legit cafeteria style dim sum. Pork buns are out of this world. If you want no frills delicious dim sum lol no further. If you want table service and a bougie experience go elsewhere.

Walked in around 10am on a Sunday for brunch to a bustling restaurants filled with families around round tables and steaming food carts zigging by. We had food on our table within five minutes and the servers were friendly. Only complaint is most of our food arrived on the cooler side. Not sure if we just got unlucky, but a few of the dishes would really have been much better if they had been served warm.

They served us a dumpling dish (siu mai) that had a cockroach, and when we pointed it out to the Manager, he basically didn’t do much about it. He just offered us a minimum discount and brushed us away. Will avoid coming back to Hei La Moon Restaurant.

I ordered carry out from this restaurant on mon nov 4. The lady taking the order not familiar with gluten free. I literally had to walk to restaurant to get someone to help . Next, the lady overcharged by 80 dollars. Then when brought food home noticed there was no white rice in bag. I went back to restaurant and lady told me white rice doesn’t come with order. I have never had white rice not come with an order. I had to pay for rice that was not additional. Food was mediocre at best. Service was terrible.

This is still an excellent place to go for a nice lunch with friends. A bit more expensive than the last time I was there but still a good price for a big meal in Boston.

I like dim sum. It was good - tasty. But not a large selection, at least in late afternoon.

Best Dim Sum I've found in Boston so far (better than Empire Garden). Typical experience with carts they bring around. Most food is greasy but that's the way Dim Sum is supposed to be.

Hei La is one of the three big dim sum palaces in Boston. Service is attentive and during a Saturday lunch there were plenty of carts with a variety of dim sum and other dishes. Our party of 10 was well satisfied with the selection and description by the servers. Despite the dim, conversation in normal voice was possible. Since parking is easy, inexpensive and the food is good, I will be eating here again. I want to try the barbecue next door as well!

Really their dimsum. The parsley dumplings were really good. Great congee too. Definitely will go back.
