Best Cajun in Chicago! Great ambience!

I cannot say anything negative about this place. The shrimp and grits were fork licking good, the gumbo was too. They have a variety of hot sauces on each table to choose from. The entrance is a little tricky to find because it's on the 7th floor of a building. I hope you can find it bc the food is worth it. Its conveniently located near Millennium Park so you can stuff your face then walk it off.

Apart from the wait for a table, service was good and the staff were nice. AMAZING FOOD. We got loads of food and nothing was bad honestly (swap out the bread for grits). They also have good chicory coffee (pair it with their key lime pie). There is a lot of regulars in this restaurant (good sign). I would highly recommend this place!

Nice ambiance. Gumbo is just fine. Not great. Fried catfish is good. Even the shrimps are good.

The best restaurant in Chicago. A little piece of New Orleans right in downtown.

Food was great. Service was complete. Order from the blackboard instead of the menu. Corn muffins are better than Mom's. Ordered the pork belly and fried egg over grits and was truly impressed. Kudos to the chef.

This place was great. Loved all the decorations and the food was good. Definitely try to get there closer to 11 for lunch though because it was very busy.

Good food and service, nice variety on the menu. Great place for Cajun food. Went at lunch, looks like it can get busy. Food was not overly spicy as some Cajun places will do. Good experience.

Fantastic food and drinks. Prompt attentive service. About the only thing missing is live music. Minor catch with being Cash Only but they do have an ATM. Well worth the trip.

Another great Mardi Gras by Jimmy and the Gang! Seriously great food, amazing King cake, (try the gulf shrimp, it is full fat, full flavor , it’s like gristle bacon.) . The staff really resembles the 1970’s cast of Saturday Night Live, they are lively, fun, and they KNOW their food. This is a big lunchtime spot for the local Jewelers and shoppers nearby. If you ask nicely for a hot sauce cup, you can mix your hot sauces. (Some people even drink it.) if you are looking for a lively, fun time in the city, this is the place to go.

Fantastic Cajun in Chicago. Cash only. Luckily, there's an ATM inside (with a fee of course). If you can't see the chalkboard with the specials, ask. The paper menus can be incomplete. Literally can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Really tasty food for reasonable price! Everything was pretty much spot on besides the AC being turned up a little too much. Fried pickles, tomatoes & gumbo were all great. I would like to try the dessert next time. Come hungry and bring cash. (ATM available in restaurant)

What a gem. This place was recommended to me by a friend. It has a lot of character and the food was delicious. Be prepared to taste some new flavours and soak up the atmosphere.

I have found my favorite place for gumbo. Jimmy, I hope you see this post! Thank you very much for the very delicious gumbo. I was just telling my girlfriend last night, that I needed to find a great restaurant to celebrate my birthday dinner at this year, and having your gumbo today, I know that I'll be having my birthday dinner at Heaven on 7! I'll be seeing you in a couple weeks, with a appetite for creole. Thank you very much again for the delicious gumbo. See you soon!
