A classy celebration venue.

Attended a wedding reception here recently, and was impressed. Very good food and impeccable decor like a throwback to Colonial times -- built-in oak bookcases floor to ceiling, period chandeliers, grand piano in a corner, fireplace, etc., and two blocks from the Charles River in historic Beacon Hill. Highly recommended, especially for special occasions.

Came here for friend’s wedding hosted in a a classy room. Beautifully decorated with books, window drapery, piano, gold chandelier light etc. Interior is kinda dark for photos. The food is ok—nicely plated but doesn’t taste too good. They validate parking at the underground Boston Common garage all day for $9.

We were there for a baby shower and it was just beautiful! The rooms give a very authentic and vintage feel. The windows open to the views of Boston Commons with ample sun shine. The staff is very knowledgeable and courteous.

Saw a magic show here. 4 handed illusions. Was great.

Came here for an event, don't get me wrong. This is a classy old school New England establishment. If you are coming here for the environment you will be very happy. The food we had on the other hand wasn't all that great. I had some decent coconut chicken and a few other passed apps that were Ok. I don't know what an event costs here but it can't be cheap. There was also a pasta station, it looked cool but the pasta itself in the cream sauce was just alright as well. Service however was excellent.

Fantastic venue, food is all right

My wife and I visited Cheers (and subsequently, the Hampshire House) this last week and it was simply amazing. The manager, Markus, was very charismatic and charming while taking us on a private tour of the home, describing each room in much detail and introducing us to various staff. I simply cannot believe how wonderful this venue is and would highly recommend everyone take a tour!

Beautiful house with amazing ambiance. Friendly staff and delicious food.

I came for my food tasting, will be getting married here soon. I was expecting the usual mediocre wedding fare. The food was amazing. I didn't like everything (I'm the pickiest person in the world) but the flavours mixed so well with each other, the food quality was excellent, the textures and sauces were perfect, the meat was cooked exactly as it should be, I don't eat seafood but the others were very impressed with that as well. Vegetables weren't overcooked, good mix of everything on each plate, and the best of all was that the portion sizes were huge. It wasn't that silly thing where the chef tries so hard to make the plate look nice that he forgets to put any food on it. The chef is superb and the other staff were all so helpful and friendly and polite. (Also organized, which helps with wedding planning because I suck.) I can't wait to be back.
