Halibut House

First time ever going there. I heard of this place when it first opened and was just either never in the area or in the area with cash. But, finally went and have to say i was impressed. Great service, good portion sizes. Will go back.

We went to the Halibut House after reading such wonderful reviews, and we are pretty disappointed. Ordered the breaded Halibut and fries. The fish was chewy because it was over done, and the tartar sauce was sweet and did not taste like tartar sauce at all. The coleslaw was ok, and the fries were good, but the fish being the main part of the meal (and expensive) ruined it for us. It was a very hot and humid day and the a/c was not on, which made for an uncomfortable environment as well. The service however was great, our server was very sweet. The haddock may be better, but we dont recommend the halibut or the tartar sauce, and won't be returning.

Brand new, clean, and the halibut was fantastic. Service was quick, and our orders were prepared properly, and arrived quickly as well.

Honestly one of the best fish & chip places I have been to ever. The portions were great, food was not greasy and very tasty. Even the salad was excellent. Our server Anna was very nice as well, will definitely be coming back here in the future.

I like this place. Food is great and prices are reasonable. On sundays and Mondays you can have fish and chips for $7.99.

Pretty good fish and chips. It is deep fried halibut, haddock and cod.

I'm a regular at the Halibut House in Thornhill. I'm temporarily on a budget and they have $ 8.00 special's certain days, that are affordable, tasty and fish is a healthy food (relatively healthy, as its fried in batter, but its a good compromise). Also, I request all coleslaw - no fries to make it "more" healthy" and they grant my request always with no problammo. The service is real good and so is the environment, its clean, with big windows giving lots of sunshine and the staff is friendly - heyyyyy, whats not to like - I recommend it !!!

Great fish and chips! Good salads and cheesecake. Our favorite go to for seafood.

Came in for take out. The place was very busy, but the staff was working hard to get everyone food quickly. All the workers were doing their best to please the customers, but some customers will never be satisfied and were rude and impatient with the staff. Kudos to the workers for staying clam and friendly. The fish and chips were delicious and still piping hot when I got home. A great deal at 7 dollars on Sundays and Mondays.

Had the seafood platter. It was good not bad but a little greasy. They do have a special Monday and Tuesdays I believe.

Great casual dining. Delicious food with fast and friendly service. The restaurant was spotless! Whenever our waitress wasn't busy, she was cleaning, which was really nice to see. Will definitely return.

Highly recommended lunch special Sunday Monday and Wednesday $8. Great fish and chips.
