Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken

5 star service, 3 star food (sorry 😬) = Avg 4 starsI really wanted to love this place. I just don't think the breading on the chicken is as good as some others. But damn do they get service. Owner was at our table twice making sure we were taken care of and to just be friendly. Everyone is so nice.

We were in Atlanta for business and stopped by this hidden treasure for an early lunch after our plane landed. My husband and I both enjoyed our meals. I'm not usually a spicy food lover but the chicken was delicious and full of flavor. Not to spicy for me. The staff was quick and friendly. Would definitely recommend checking this place out.

WARNING: DO NOT PUT HOT SAUCE ON THE CHICKEN...until after the first bite!! Hot and Spicy fo real!! Crispy, tender, flavorful, and tasty! The space is larger than I expected. Clean, roomy, clean and appreciated. Our waitress was motivated but not overly intrusive and keep our plastic cups full. The sides were delicious and vanished from our plates pretty fast. I didn't lick my fingers but I did lick some bones. Parking is crazy expensive but that's not Gus's fault. I'm just happy the food was worth the fee. Bottom line, we'll be back for that 🔥 🐔!!

This place was magnificent. I'm speechless. The fried green tomatoes amazing..chicken , crispy spicy perfection, the toast was perfect accompaniment to the spicy. The coconut pie was incredible.im from California and I will dream about this place for years to come. I just wish I had visited here on day 1. Love u Gus!!

I love different fried chicken spots. This is definitely one of my favorites. It is super spicy but not hot. The staff is okay it is really clean inside but I can't go on long enough on how awesome the chicken is. Also you've got to try the mac and cheese and beans both. what a great place I would highly recommend it for anybody that's out of town or maybe you're a local and haven't tried them yet.

Catfish and Chicken wings were hotter than expected; spicy hot. I like spicy hot but it was too hot to enjoy. Neither my friend or I were able to finish the plate because of "heat". Would have appreciated if server had let us know in advance about the spice level. The meal came with 2 sides; the coleslaw was deliciously creamy. Would have rated 5 stars if meat wasn't so spicy.

I will say that the signature chicken rates 5 stars. For our dinner group of 4, most everything else was average. Service was bland but adequate. The sides tasted as if some came from a can and others were just foodservice products. I would believe the chicken is done in-house, but other foods are straight from a delivery truck. Ambiance is OK, but overall meal was average.

If you're looking for great food, in a no frills restaurant, Gus's is the place to go! Their chicken is spicy, if you don't like spice they will suggest you get chicken tenders. Great options for sides, and their Sweet Tea and Lemonade mix is delicious!

We had a lovely waitress with nice service here. The food is great, although the best part of the fried chicken (the skin) is a bit too spicy for our kids. They don't typically eat spicy food. However, all the adults love the flavor of the chicken. I personally do not eat spicy food, so I was not able to tolerate the skin. We ordered the fried okra which I LOVE. Overall, we had a pleasant experience. This restaurant is family and children friendly with a handicap ramp leading to the inside of the restaurant.

Friend staff & absolutely amazing fried chicken. The skin is perfect, the flavour the spice... all so yummy

This is my first time coming here. I don’t know what I was expecting, expect for some great fried chicken. Well, I am very pleased to say that my expectations were exceeded in the best way possible. My server, Destinee, was phenomenal. Upon entering the restaurant I was greeted with love and hospitality. Then I met her and it was just uphill from there. I would 10/10 recommend this establishment.

I'm from Florida and this was me and my wife's first time ever tried or even heard of guss but it was a 1 on point nice and flavorful with that nice lil kick didn't even need the hot sauce on the next trip we will be back

This place was great. Loved the atmosphere. Wonderful southern service. I though the food was alright. Could’ve just been what I got because my boyfriend absolutely loved it. He said it was the best fried chicken he ever had

This was my first experience at a Gus's chicken place. The chicken was lightly breaded and spicy. I loved the flavor and texture. I will definitely be seeking out their chain for more chicken. This location had great service and a friendly staff. We stopped here on our way from the airport and they even pointed out a place near our table where we could stash our luggage out of the way while we ate. Great Southern sides too.

On my first night in Atlanta I was looking for some good, local food. Gus's fit the bill. The chicken was tasty, the sweet tea was done right and the service was friendly. I found the portions to be good for the price. I will definitely bring my wife here when we come to Atlanta together.
