The food was okay. The chicken tenders were not better than fast food and didn't really taste fresh or of high quality. The mac and cheese was just well.. okay. The fries were average at best. They serve a slice of bread with the plates as well. The food was a lot like the bread. Plain. White bread. Considering all of the high praise in reviews, I assumed it would be high quality fried chicken. The price does not justify the average quality of the meal.

I've been visiting Gus' for a few years now and was surprised I hadn't written a review. So it's time to fix that little issue.I'm not a big fried chicken person, except for wings. But it's hard to turn down a good fried chicken. The thing I like about Gus' is it's simple and straight to the point. It's seasoned well, juicy, crispy, and tender. I love the crispy skin, and after heat, you get in the back of your throat when eating their hot & spicy chicken. It's not so hot that it kills the flavor, but rather it enhances the flavors. The menu is simple, with some tasty Southern sides.Recently, I've been ordering the same thing; three-piece wing plate, with fried okra and seasoned fries. And of course, Sweet Tea!! And you can't go wrong starting it all off with some Fried Green Tomatoes.

Questions & Answers

No. They have plain as well. But the spicy isn't all that spicy. Just depends on your tolerance level.

Don't think so

No only their spicy fry batter

Yes, it is.

I don't remember seeing the standard state notice in the entrance. It would be best to call ahead and find out.

Not sure but I really doubt they will.

Maybe I was there on a bad day. Chicken was dry and overcooked. Batter flavor was good, but at twice the price of other places, I don't think it's worth it

It does have something on the outside but not a thick batter like typical fried chicken. That said, the outside of the pieces I had was tough and the chicken was nothing to write home about.

You can request non spicy, but it's really not that spicy.
