This place is absolutely amazing! My husband and I have been here many times and are never disappointed. Everything on the menu is delicious and exciting. A true New Orleans experience. You can find the owner Rick in the kitchen making sure every dish is top notch. Rick has a true passion for food this shows in every dish.

Absolutely excellent jambalaya (had the seafood variety). Also tasted the seafood gumbo and thought that was great too - spicy but not too spicy and a ton of flavor. The portion sizes will not disappoint for the price. My gripes were with the empanadas which seemed uninteresting and slightly overpriced in comparison. The sampler platter appetizer also seemed expensive, but I got to try some of Gumbo Ya Ya’s fried chicken which was superb - light, crispy breading served piping hot. Overall I would highly recommend checking out this establishment for their specialty jambalaya or gumbo.

Great lunch experience. Their po boy is really quite good, the fries are seasoned nicely, and the wait service was great. Kid friendly to boot. :)

Very good creole food and reasonable prices. Large bar area too.

The gumbo was great. Just the right amount of spice. The empanada was really tasty using chunks of meat instead of ground beef. I am not usually a wing person but these wings were cooked and seasoned just right.

Went to the new location in Rockville. The fish sandwich and empanadas are amazing. Looking forward to trying other things offered on the menu. The people were very nice and welcoming. Keep it going Gumbo Yaya!!!

Great Jambalaya! And what a unique experience for dinner, much more fun to try something new than just continually doing the same old stuff. Worth a visit!

I only gave one star because I had to in order to write a review. As I sit here and read these reviews, I am believing that these people may have been paid to say these things about this establishment. When my wife and I got there, she walked in and I was rudely approached by a man (security I guess) at the door saying “You can only come if you’re picking up food. You have to leave if you’re staying for the bandâ€. Not sure why this was said or done , but I called my wife who had done walked completely in back to the door and left. Never again will I attempt to spend my hard earned money at this place. Respectfully,A Business Owner Also

This is a very nice restaurant and the food is so very good. I've been here a few times and I have really enjoyed the food. However, they must be short on servers. I just went in and sat for more than 15 mins. No one talked to me, no one took my order. Two waitresses took orders from people all around me and totally ignored me? I eventually left the restaurant although I am very hungry. On my way out I spoke to one of the servers about not being served and she said she didn't see me. Really? Poor service.

The small portion is not what I expected. Both Seafood and Jambalaya were basic at best. The Jambalaya was more spicy than flavorful. The shrimp were a good size and cooked well.

The owners are extremely friendly and attentive and try to make sure people are taken care of. This isn't a place if you want instant gratification: everything is made to order. Everything my family and I tried has been great. Favorites are the shrimp and grits (only at brunch), the seafood gumbo, and the catfish and the oyster po' boys. Definitely a place to try if you're in town.
