Very impressed with the food and the atmosphere. Nice menu reflecting traditional German and interesting interpretations. Great beer selection. Looking forward to eating in the great looking outdoor beer garden.

Looking for a hidden gem in Durham which features food for the vegetarian and the meat lovers, than Guglhupf is a great place to start. The food is fresh and service is quick. You may circle the restaurant a few times to find a parking space, as that's limited. There are several choices for seating and the menu is quite extensive featuring a morning/lunch time menu and them switching up at 3:00 for there dinner service. Enjoy the time with your spouse or family. You won't be disappointed.

Love the space (indoor & outdoor!) and love the drink menu and meat/cheese board (very generous portion!). Great for dinner or even a mid-afternoon snack/drink outing. Bakery is incredible, too.

Dude... So good. Going back for sure. There were 6 of us. Everyone was sampling each other's plates. Not one bad bite in the bunch. Beer was phenomenal as well. We also got six different desserts. There were favorites, but all were fantastic.

Guglhupf is just one of those special places where the everything you could order is delicious. I love taking my family to meet up for brunch or lunch. The food is all special, and the bakery is out of this world. The coffee is top notch and sitting out on the patio is perfect in decent weather. Despite being super popular we always manage to find a table. Sometimes it's loud inside, but that's rare. I love the Eggs Benedict, chocolate baked goods, and the bratwurst is always great quality. I find the service is good despite being a counter style, and although the line is long sometimes, it's because they treat you like you're the only one there when you're at the counter. I'd eat here every Saturday if I could afford it.

This place is just the cutest! Parking is a little bit of a nightmare because it is small and always crowded, but worth it. The coffee is delicious and the bakery has so many delicious pastries, like croissants and danishes, and fresh bread (can't beat the smell of freshly baked bread). Perfect for breakfast, lunch or brunch! (I haven't been for dinner ...yet). The outside patio is too cute, with lots and plants, even if it's chilly out because they have heaters and blankets:)

Very tasty German food at cafe. This place gets *very* crowded for sunday brunch. Parking is limited for crowd size. You order at counter, then find a table. The wait staff will bring food to you. Excellent bakery -which is in separate, but attached bldg. We bought pastries while we waited for our lunch.

A unique and delicious dining experience! We made dinner reservations early on a Saturday night and requested a table downstairs since my bro is recovering from a heart transplant and was not up to conquering the stairs to most of the other seating on the second floor. The staff were very accommodating and we were seated promptly.

So much to love about this place. The bakery offers an extraordinary variety of pastries and breads. German focus as the name implies, but many options. The cafe has a nice warm vibe tables of various sizes spread over two floors. Outdoor seating is plentiful, some covered and heated, they even have water features

Spectacular. My wife and I just recently moved to Durham and Guglhupf has quirky become one of our favorite places! The pastries and beautiful and equally delicious, their coffee is great, and the environment is tantalizing. The atmosphere makes it easy to feel like you can step away from the day-to-day chaos for a bit. You better check it out if you're here!

Guglhuph is offering a great to-go menu where you have a range of reheat at home items with clear instructions, and very easy set-up. They also offer bakery and some grocery items! So glad to have such great food while we shelter in place. This time we had the wild boar ragout, pheasant pot pie, and roasted brussel sprouts.

The atmosphere is amazing and so is the drink menu. I cannot remember the name of it but the clam dish was also delicious. I'll definitely be back...

The menu has authentic German selections. Recently I had the oxtail stew which was rich and beefy - delicious. I like a stout beer and they had a really good one but I don't remember which one it was! Don't be put off by the German names on the menu that you can't pronounce!
